Singita Kwitonda Lodge

Singita Kwitonda Lodge is one of the closest lodges located in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, the lodge is in a prime location to encounter some of Africa’s greatest wildlife encounters, the Mountain gorilla trekking.

The Lodge Boast breath-taking views of three of the five volcanoes of Sabyinyo, Gahinga, and Muhabura which are surrounded by high-altitude tropical rain forests.

Volcanic-stone pathways meander through lush, flowering meadows and cross rushing streams, linking eight statuesque rooms (villa-sized) to the main lodge.

Each of the eight luxurious suites features a private heated plunge pool, wellness treatment area, in- and outdoor fireplaces, and large timber-framed windows that welcome breath-taking scenery and volcano views inside.

Singita Kwitonda Lodge is located on 175 acres and shares a 1.3km border with Volcanoes National Park making it the only lodge within such close proximity to Volcanoes national park. The Lodge was named after a legendary silverback gorilla of the Kwitonda gorilla family that passed away on Monday 10 September 2012 aged 40.

How to get to Singita Kwitonda Lodge

Singita Kwitonda Lodge can easily be accessible by air or by road from the main capital Kigali, by road the lodge is located about 127 km from the Kigali Via Musanze (Ruhengeri) when you arrive in Ruhengeri you take the road to Cyanika border and then 500 meters on your Left you take the road to Volcanoes national park and you follow the signs and when about the reach park headquarters you will see the lodge sign and by air you can charter a helicopter from Akagera aviation and land at the Helicopter pads at the Lodge which will be your destination
