Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge

Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge is a renowned community-owned Luxury safari lodge in Volcanoes national park, Governors’ Camp Collection was the one behind the construction of the Lodge and set up the community trust of SACOLA (Sabyinyo Community Livelihood Association) which acts as the landlord and collects rent fees and community fees which are in return used for providing services in the communities neighboring Volcanoes National Park.

Accommodation at Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge comprises six cottages, two suites, one family cottage. All are stone buildings with Rwandese-style architecture tile roofs and feature large sitting areas, fireplaces, stylish en-suite bathrooms finished with Venetian plaster a dressing room, and a sheltered veranda.

The lodge’s proximity from Volcanoes National Park from where the Mountain gorilla trekking experience takes place. Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge sits at the foothills of the five Virungas volcanoes, the chain of 15,000 ft volcanoes stretching through Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sabyinyo offers wonderful views of the volcanoes and the surrounding countryside.

How to get to Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge

Sabyinyo silverback has well-coordinated logistics from Kigali using 4×4 safari vehicles, the Lodge has located about 125 km from the Main capital Kigali and it’s an easy 2-3 hour drive and those wanting to fly in can charter a helicopter from Kigali and land at the helicopter pad at the Lodge property.
