Uganda is one of the best places to trek chimpanzees in Africa, the country has different trekking areas and each trekking area offers different price, the chimpanzee permits are sold by the government of Uganda on a first come first serve basis and there are always no guarantees on the trekking permits and this is the respective fees per the trekking area in Uganda.
Kibale forest national park permits
Kibale forest national park is the best place in the world to trek chimpanzees alongside Mahale in Tanzania, the forest is home to 13 primate species and the most dominant being the chimpanzees.
Permit price depends on the activity, the regular 3-4 hours trek with one hour of viewing cost $200 per person per trek, and the Chimpanzee habituation experience which is a 5-7 hour trek with 4 hours of viewing cost between $250-$400 per person per trek.
Kyambura gorge permits in Queen Elizabeth national park
Kyambura gorge is one of the greatest pieces of natural forest found in the middle of the savannah plains in Queen Elizabeth national park, the gorge is home to tremendous wildlife including chimpanzees, hippos, and elephants, and sometimes during the dry season, you can even see hyenas, leopard, and lions that come to drink water or hunt wildlife by the Kyambura river.
Kyambura chimpanzee permits cost $90 and that includes the $40 for the park entrance fees to the park.

Budongo forest is one of the greatest standing lowland forests in Northwestern Uganda and it is one of the few places in Uganda where you can see the Congo Biome species that come from the Ituri forest in the Eastern democratic republic of Congo, the forest has two families available, the Kaniyo Pabidi group is open for tourism and the royal mile troop is for research.

Kalinzu forest chimpanzee permits
Kalinzu is part of the larger Maramagambo forest which is a big habitat for wildlife in Queen Elizabeth national park, this forest forms part of the rift valley, and its one of the best places to trek chimpanzees in Uganda.
Kalinzu forest chimpanzee permits cost $50 -90 per person per trek.
