Detailed safari itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali international airport and transfer to the hotel
Upon arrival at Rwanda capital Kigali you will be received by our representative and transfer to your lodge Kigali for relaxation and overnight.
Day 2: Drive from Kigali to Goma in DR Congo
After morning breakfast you will start your drive north of Rwanda towards Gisenyi where the Rwanda borders DR Congo on the shores of Lake Kivu, upon arrive you will clear immigration and transfer to your hotel in Goma for overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Nyiragongo to start your hike to the summit and Overnight
After early morning breakfast you will drive to the starting point for Mount Nyiragongo, upon arrival you will be met by the expert hikers for a short briefing after you will start your hiking adventure to the summit, upon arrival you will check in to your camp and enjoy dinner after you will go and have views of the burning lava in the night and later overnight at the summit in the camp.
Day 4: Descent to the base and transfer to Goma town
After early morning quick breakfast you enjoy the last views of the burning lava and after start descending down to the base upon reaching down you will be received by your guide and transfer to your lodge in Goma town for relaxation and overnight.
Day 5: Drive to Virunga national park
After morning breakfast you will start your drive to Virunga national park, upon arrival you will check in to your lodge and transfer to Senkwekwe gorilla orphanage to visit the orphanage and later return to the lodge for relaxation and Overnight.
Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Virunga national park
After morning breakfast you will drive to park headquarters for your gorilla trekking adventure, here you will be taken through a briefing by the expert rangers and after you will start your trek on foot in to the rainforest, upon locating the mountain gorillas you will spend 1 hour with the mountain gorillas and later return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.
Day 7: Drive to Lake Kivu in Rwanda for overnight
After morning breakfast you will bid farewell to the lodge and start your drive to the border of DR Congo and Rwanda to clear immigration after clearing immigration you will then be transferred to your lodge on the Rwandan side for relaxation and overnight.
Day 8: Drive from Lake Kivu to Kigali for your own ward flight
After Lazily breakfast depending on flight schedule you will start your drive to Kigali upon arrival you will enjoy lunch and have a short city tour of Kigali after you will then be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.

Best time to Hike Nyiragongo active Volcano
From December to mid-March, even mid-June to September is really the best time to hike Nyiragongo Volcano because it is not as cold as in the wet season and also you will be able to see the peak very clear.
