Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi Kenya

Welcome to the capital of Kenya! Today will be the first day of an exciting trip that includes the best of wildlife and natural beauty. Nairobi, the “Green City in the Sun” is a front runner in the corporate and economic world and the start point of your journey into the best of Africa.

Day 2: Nairobi – Samburu (6 Hours’ Drive)

After morning breakfast you will depart for Samburu national park where you will enjoy views of sisal and pineapple plantations as your drive north to Samburu. Enjoy a sumptuous lunch and follow it up with a stimulating game drive to get a taste of what this tour has in store for you! The rest of the evening is for you to relax and unwind. Savor an excellent dinner spread before you wind up at the Sentrim Camp, Samburu.

Day 3: Explore Samburu National Park

You will enjoy game drives in search of the exotic wildlife of Africa! Spend an entire day at the Samburu National Park as you explore native animals in their habitat. After a quick breakfast, head for an early morning game drive where you may be able to spot rare species of animals like the Beisa Oryx, Grevy’s Zebra, and the Somalian blue-necked ostrich. In case you are unable to sight your favorite animals, head for another game drive in the afternoon to try your luck again! Enjoy a luxurious and calm evening at leisure followed by an overnight stay.

Day 4: Drive from Samburu to Serena Mountain Lodge, Mt Kenya

A 4-hour drive downward from Samburu will get you to the lower slopes of Mount Kenya, the second-highest peak in Africa. Your destination today will be the exquisite Serena Mountain Lodge, luxury accommodation in the midst of lush green forests and pure air. You will be spell-bound by magnificent views and a sense of serenity that envelops you all through. Relax after lunch in any way that suits your convenience.

You can take an optional nature walk or simply witness the game from the comfort of your balcony. Tonight, however, you will be part of an adventure that will be remembered for a long time to come! Floodlight game viewing at night is going to be one of the highlights of this trip and for good reason! Enjoy a hearty dinner and a comfortable overnight stay in sheer luxury and tranquillity.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru

Depart from Serena Mountain Lodge after an early breakfast and proceed towards Lake Nakuru, which is known worldwide for the birds it attracts! As you drive along, you will pass through Rift Valley and the Nyahururu Thomson Falls. The former is a lowland that is formed in the midst of mountain ranges and unusual geographical phenomena.  The Thomson Falls, where there will be a shortstop, is a magnificent 243ft cascading waterfall!

Complemented by impenetrable forests, these falls are true delights to watch and capture. After a 4-hour drive, you will be treated to a delicious lunch at the Nakuru Guest House. Venture out for an afternoon game drive at Lake Nakuru, a haven for birds. Flamingos especially can be found in abundance aside from various other species of birds and animals. The rest of the evening is for you to spend time at your leisure; dinner and overnight stay at Lake Nakuru Guest House.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru – Maasai Mara Game Reserve (6 Hours’ Drive)

Depart from your Lodge after an early breakfast and drive towards the much-celebrated Maasai Mara National Park, where you will arrive just in time for lunch. You will be able to set out for an afternoon game drive at the National Park – a place known to be inhabited by large numbers of lions, cheetahs, and leopards.

Be amazed as you watch the life of the wild unfold right before your eyes! The rest of the day is for you to unwind and feel rejuvenated as it is not too often that you get to be this close to nature! Enjoy a wonderful dinner before you wind up for the day at camps.

Day 7: Explore Maasai Mara National reserve

Make the most of your trip to the Maasai Mara National Park. Known for its large population of the “Big Five”- lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, and elephant; this reserve is sure to get you close and personal with some of the most fierce and exotic wildlife in the world. A large number of animals including the zebra, wildebeest, and Thomson’s gazelle are known to migrate to the Mara every year. – If luck favors, you may also be able to sight antelopes, impalas, and the nocturnal bat-eared fox, among many others. You can spend the entire day at the National Park with a picnic lunch or you could also choose to make 2 game drives in the course of the day. If you are one to explore the local lifestyle, culture, and heritage, you can make a visit to the Maasai Village at an additional cost of USD 30 per person. After a long yet exciting day, relax with a filling dinner and spend overnight at camps.

Day 8: Maasai Mara – Nairobi

Get a feel of the mornings in Maasai Mara as you set out on an early morning game drive. Have a sumptuous breakfast before you are driven back to your stop at Nairobi (Hotel/Airport). Your journey ends today, with a plethora of experiences and memories to cherish!
