Uganda over years has become one of the destinations in East Africa for gorilla trekking, gorilla trekking in Uganda is done in two rainforests of Bwindi impenetrable national park and Mgahinga gorilla national park all located in southwestern Uganda, and chimpanzee trekking is done in Kibale forest national park located near the adventure city of Fort portal.

Suggested Itinerary
Day 1: Pick Up and transfer to Kibale forest national park
After morning breakfast at your lodge in Kampala or Entebbe, our guide will pick you up and transfer you to Kibale forest national park, Kibale is a lowland rainforest which the highest concentration of primates in Uganda the drive is a scenic drive you will see lots of tea plantations and forest cover upon arrival in fort portal you will have lunch after lunch you will drive to the forest and if time allows you may visit the Bigodi wetland sanctuary.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking experience in Kibale forest
This is one of the top highlights of the safari as you will heading to the rain forest to trek chimpanzees in their natural habitat, the day starts with a beautiful cup of coffee or tea at your balcony as the sun shines above the horizon and after you will enjoy morning breakfast after our guide will receive you and transfer you to the park station for a chimpanzee briefing after you will be split into groups of 5 and then you will head into the forest and start looking for the chimpanzees with the guide after finding the chimps you view them for one hour after you will return to the lodge for relaxation and if time allows you may do swamp walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary.
Day 3: Drive to Queen Elizabeth for Boat cruise and short game drive
After morning breakfast you will drive to Queen Elizabeth national park for an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel for wildlife viewing and later if time allows you will do a short game drive in the Kasenyi plains after you will drive to the Lodge for check-in and Relaxation.
Day 4: Drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park
You will have a lazy morning and after you will drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park via the southern part of the park if the road is passable, the drive will take you through Maramagambo forest before entering the southern part of Queen Elizabeth national park which is famous for tree climbing Lions and they continue to Bwindi upon arrival you will check-in and relax as you prepare for a gorilla trekking experience.
Day 5: Gorilla trekking Experience in Bwindi forest national park
As you wake up you are more likely to see the mist over the steep hills and deep valleys as you prepare for gorilla trekking experience, your day will start with breakfast in the morning you will be picked up by your guide and transferred to the briefing point for gorilla trekking, after briefing you will be split into a group of 8 people per gorilla group and you will head into the forest to trek the gorillas after finding the gorilla you will spend one hour with the gorillas and after you will return to the Lodge for relaxation.
Day 6: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation
After a fantastic gorilla trekking experience, you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi which is the deepest volcanic lake in Uganda after arriving you will have lunch and relax after your relaxation you will take an evening sundowner boat cruise on the Lake as you enjoy the beauty of the Volcanic Lake.
Day 7: Drive to Lake Mburo national park
After morning breakfast you will drive to Lake Mburo national park for an evening game drive in the park as this is one of the best places to see Giraffes, Elands, impala which are not common in other national parks and later you drive to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Drive back to Entebbe or Kampala
Depending on your flight time you may choose to do a morning walking safari in the park after returning to the Lodge for refreshment and then start your drive back to Entebbe.

When to Book the safari package
We recommend booking the safari at least 6 months in advance as gorilla permits are very scarce and booking them in advance is recommended.
Best time to travel in Uganda
June to October and from December to February is the best time for gorilla trekking in Uganda as it is dry season.
