Our 7 days Uganda primate safaris will give you an opportunity to encounter the Chimpanzees in Kibale national park and trek the mountain gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable national park after taking a short relaxation at Uganda’s deepest Lake Bunyonyi before driving back to Entebbe.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe international airport

Upon arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will be received by our representative and transferred to the lodge for relaxation and overnight, Entebbe is the entry to Uganda and it’s a peninsula with a vast range of activities like visiting the botanical gardens, Lake Victoria boat cruise, Ngamba island chimpanzee sanctuary.

Day 2: Drive to Kibale forest

After morning breakfast you will drive to Kibale forest national park via fort portal which is a huge tourism hub upon arrival at the lodge you will check-in and if time allows you can do activities around the Lodge, Kibale is the primate capital of the world with 13 different species of primates but the most dominant being the chimpanzees.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking Experience

After morning breakfast you will be transferred to the park headquarters for a chimpanzee briefing, you will be divided into a group of 5 people and you will head into the forest to search for the chimpanzees and the trek takes about 3-4 hours after you will return to the park and later transfer to the Lodge for relaxation.

Day 4: Drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park

After morning breakfast you will drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park via the vast plains of Queen Elizabeth national park as you will keep an eye on some savannah wildlife en route to the home of the endangered mountain gorillas, upon arrival you will check-in at the lodge and relax as you prepare for your gorilla trekking experience.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi forest

After morning breakfast you will transfer to the park headquarters with packed lunch and enough drinking water, you will have a briefing by the park officials after you will be split into smaller groups of 8 people and you will head into the forest to trek the gorillas, gorilla trekking experience usually takes between 2-8 hours depending on where the gorillas’ group is located.

Day 6: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi

After lazily breakfast you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi which is regarded as the deepest volcanic lake in Uganda, the Lake provides stunning views and a wide range of activities like Zip lining, Boat cruise, hiking tours, Biking tours, and canoeing and you will enjoy the day at leisure or enjoy light activities at the Lodge.

Day 7: Drive to Back Entebbe

After morning breakfast you will start your journey back to Entebbe via the Equator line, the drive takes about 8-9 hours and upon arrival in Entebbe depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airport for your outbound flight.
