7 Days Fly-in Kahuzi Biega Gorilla Safari
The tour will start and end in Kigali. We will pass in Goma after Kahuzi Biega then Kigali to avoid the back track. The tourist visa for Kahuzi Biega will be arranged for you and flights will be from Kigali to Kamembe which is the airport right at the border between Rwanda’s Rusizi town and DR Congo’s Bukavu.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, you will be received by our guide and transferred to the lodge overnight.

Day 2: Kigali – Bukavu
After greetings and briefing, you will drive downtown to get the coffee while getting the briefing about the tour, around 12 o’clock, drive back to the airport and take the shared domestic flight to Kamembe, arrive there, drive 5 km and reach the Rwanda and DR Congo border, after immigration formalities, enter Bukavu town and transfer to the lodge for overnight.

Day 3: Bukavu – Lwiro – Bukavu
After breakfast, drive to Lwiro and visit the Scientific Research Center built by Belgians a long time ago.
Activities here are:
- Chimps, Monkeys and baboons Sanctuary
- The Museum
- One of the biggest libraries in Central Africa
- The biodiversity room
- Snacks in cages
After the visit to the Scientific Research Center, drive to Kabare and visit the royal court to learn more about the Bushi kingdom, chances are to see the king here or the queen drive back to Bukavu, overnight at Orchids Safari Club.

Day 4: Bukavu – Kahuzi Biega National Park (Eastern Low Land Gorillas trek)
After early morning breakfast, with your packed lunch, drive to Kahuzi Biega National Park precisely at Chivanga, after registration and briefing, enter the park and enjoy the Eastern Low Land Gorillas trek, after the visit, drive back to Bukavu.

Day 5: Second gorilla trekking Experience
After early morning breakfast, with your packed lunch, drive to Kahuzi Biega National Park precisely at Chivanga, after registration and briefing, enter the park and enjoy the Eastern Low Land Gorillas trek, after the visit, drive back to Bukavu.

Day 6: Kahuzi Biega National Park – Goma
After breakfast, drive back to Bukavu and take the fast shared boat to Goma navigating on Lake Kivu, along the navigation, see Idjwi island which is the biggest one in DR Congo and the second in Africa after Madagascar, arrive in Goma in the afternoon time, check-in the hotel, enjoy Goma evening city tour.

Day 7: Goma – Kigali
After breakfast, drive to the border and enter Rwanda, after immigration formalities, proceed with the drive to Kigali and drop you at the airport, end of the trip.

What’s included?
Virunga tourist visa, transportations (a shared domestic flight from Kigali to Kamembe, the vehicle, a driver, fuel, road government taxes, the shared speed boat from Bukavu to Goma), Accommodations as listed in the program, permits and entry fees in different visit areas, a meal in Kahuzi Biega National Park, drinking water and an English speaking guide.
What’s excluded?
Not including your international flights, Rwanda visas, medical service, tips, individual insurance, a meal outside Nyiragongo volcano summit, other drinks, and everything not listed in the program.
