Suggested safari Itinerary

Day 1: Flight from Arusha to Grumeti airstrip in the Grumeti area

After a relaxed breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip in Arusha where you will take your flight to the Grumeti area to begin your classic Tanzania safari in the Western plains of the Serengeti. On arrival, you are transferred to your lodge to enjoy a hot meal before embarking on an afternoon game drive in the area.

Day 2: Full day game drives in the Grumeti area

West of Seronera, the waters of the Grumeti and Mbalageti rivers ensure that the Western Corridor is favourable for wildlife all year round compared to the southern plains of the Serengeti. You expect good game-viewing throughout the year, but from late May and throughout June it is usual for the Great Migration to traverse the Western Corridor. Of course, this depends on the timing of the rains, but in any event, there are lions, giraffes and elephants residents in the region south of the Grumeti.

Day 3: Morning game drive in Grumeti area and afternoon transfer to central Serengeti

You will enjoy a morning game drive in this incredible western corridor. This allows you further time to wonder at the migratory herds and the dangers and challenges they face each year in their battle for survival. As well as other herds of wildlife like hippopotamus – or up in the skies, a majestic martial eagle. As well as the migrating animals, this area also has a good population of resident wildlife, so you won’t be disappointed. In the afternoon, we take the short drive back to the central part of Serengeti, where you will be taken to your chosen accommodation for relaxation and your evening meal.

Day 4: Full day Game drives in the Serengeti NP

The sights and sounds of Africa are what you expect in Serengeti which is East Africa’s top wildlife destination After breakfast, you will start today with the morning section of our game drive in Serengeti National Park, marvelling at the stunning scenery, ever-changing light and always entertaining wildlife, all explained to you by your expert guide. After our picnic lunch, we set off again, searching for wildlife.

Day 5: Morning game drive in Serengeti and afternoon transfer to Ngorongoro crater

The exciting sounds of Africa will rouse you from your sleep. We make the most of the day with a 08:00 start, heading off on our morning game drive. Later, you will drive to the Ngorongoro crater located in the Ngorongoro conservation area.

Day 6: Full day game drive in the Ngorongoro crater

Ngorongoro Crater is often referred to as a wonder of the world and your early morning game drive shows you why. First, there’s the volcanic caldera (the world’s largest), full of grassland, forest and swamp, a setting of jaw-dropping beauty. Secondly, the permanent water of the Crater floor supports a resident population of more than 25,000 large mammals. Here you’ll find many of the reasons you chose to come on safari: elephant, lion, leopard, hyena, jackal, wallowing hippo, waterbuck, baboons… even the rare black rhino finds shelter here. After your early morning game drive, we have our picnic lunch in the crater before we return to the airport for your flight home.
