Day 1: Arrival at Bujumbura international airport

Arrive at the airport where we will meet you for transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight in Bujumbura.

Day 2: Discover Rusizi National Park

After breakfast, we take a short drive to Rusizi National Park. Here you can view hippos, Sitatunga (antelope), and a wide variety of birds attracted to the wetland environment. During the afternoon, you are free to relax at your hotel.

Day 3: Karera Falls and Gitega

After an early breakfast, we drive toward the south to visit Karera River falls in the afternoon we travel to Gitega where we visit the Burundi National Museum before returning to your hotel for dinner.

Day 4: Bujumbura city tour

After breakfast, we visit the mausoleum of Prince Louis Rwagasore, a hero of the independence of Burundi. We then climb to the Belvedere on the top of the hill, a dominating point of Bujumbura, offering a unique view over Lake Tanganyika. After lunch, we drive ten kilometers south to visit “La Pierre de Stanley et Livingstone” the commemorating stone of the place where the famous explorer Stanley and Livingstone.

Day 5: Ruvubu National Park

After breakfast, we drive to Ruvubu National Park, the largest protected area in northern Burundi with less wildlife though you can still see a few of the remaining wildlife and birdlife in the national park.

Day 6: Kibira National Park

After breakfast, we drive to Kibira Forest National Park for a walk in the forest to see the pygmy’s and enjoy the conducive environment in the forest

Day 7: Leisure and Departure

You will take the day at leisure at the lakeshores of Lake Tanganyika and later you will be transferred to Bujumbura international airport for your flight out of Burundi.
