Detailed safari itinerary

Day 1: Flight from Maun to Central Kalahari game reserve

On arrival you will be Picked up from Maun airport for your Charter flight to Kalahari on arrival you will enjoy Lunch and High Tea at the camp at 3PM pick up for afternoon game drive Return about 630pm for Dinner and overnight at Deception valley lodge
The Kalahari Desert’s very name conjures up images of a unique, extraordinary environment: and rising suddenly out of its vast, flat, scrubby plains that stretch to the horizon in every direction. When the sunlight hits its sides it’s easy to imagine that you are witnessing the very beginning of human civilization; and this is truly one of the last places on earth you can walk where no other visitors have walked before you.

Day 2: Explore Central Kalahari game reserve

After morning breakfast you will discuss with your expert guides on what activities do for the day and some of the top activities include visiting Deception Valley, Sunday, Piper and Passarge Pans, stargazing and nature walks with Bushman trackers. Species that can be found in the Kalahari include oryx, the desert-adapted springbok, jackals, the rare brown hyena, red-crested Korhaan and herds of wildebeest and these activities will be done in the course of the day before your sunset with cold drinks as you watch the sun sink below the red sand dunes of Botswana.

Day 3: Flight from Central Kalahari game reserve to Okavango delta

Set within a private concession in the Okavango Delta, on the boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve, surrounded by the stunning scenery of the channels and waterways of the delta. Here, you can enjoy great leopard and big cat viewing, bush walks (dependent on season and walking conditions), birding (March to December), private night drives and off-road game drives, as well as water activities, such as fishing (March to December) and mokoro safaris (water level dependant).

Day 4: Explore Okavango Delta

After morning breakfast you will head out for a game drive in the park in search of wildlife such as Elephants, African Buffalo, Hippopotamus, Lechwe, Topi, Blue Wildebeest, Giraffe, Nile crocodile, Lion, Cheetah, Leopard, Brown Hyena, Spotted Hyena, Greater Kudu, Sable Antelope, Black Rhinoceros, White Rhinoceros, Plains Zebra, Warthog and later return to the lodge for quick lunch and take a mokoro canoe ride and later return to the lodge for relaxation and sundowner and after you will head out for a night game drive with a great opportunity to see the many animals that are more active at night than during the day such as Aardvarks, Aardwolves, Leopards, and Servals. Lions also hunt at night and it is a good chance to come upon them when they are feeding on a kill.

Day 5: Drive to Khwai concession

After morning breakfast you will start your drive to Kwai concession which is a home to large herds of elephants take their bath next to hippos, whilst being watched by lechwe antelopes. Photogenic leopards, spotted hyenas and large packs of wild dogs will make the heart of any wildlife lover beat faster.  Every now and then prides of lions can be seen. A lot of animals migrate down during the dry season from the Linyanti area, as the Khwai River forms a reliable source of water attracting many antelopes, giraffes, buffalos, and zebras.

Day 6: Explore Khwai concession

Today you will have a full day of Safari activities in the predator rich area. These activities include open vehicle safari activities searching for wildlife in an open safari vehicle, as well as optional game walks where you will learn important aspects of nature.

Day 7: Drive to Maun

After morning breakfast you will depart the lodge for Maun on arrival you will be transferred to the airport for your onward Journey.
