Detailed safari itinerary

On arrival at Maun Airport and then take a short domestic flight to the Tau Pan airstrip, on arrival at the airstrip you will be received and transferred to Tau Pan Lodge is the first semi-permanent camp inside the Central Kalahari Game Reserve and offers truly incredible views from the elevated ridge of an ancient sand dune (an unusual experience in a land as flat as Botswana) and overlooks the famous Tau Pan, recognised for its stark beauty and remoteness.
Day 2: Explore Central Kalahari game reserve
After morning breakfast you will discuss with your expert guides on what activities do for the day and some of the top activities include visiting Deception Valley, Sunday, Piper and Passarge Pans, stargazing and nature walks with Bushman trackers. Species that can be found in the Kalahari include oryx, the desert-adapted springbok, jackals, the rare brown hyena, red-crested Korhaan and herds of wildebeest and these activities will be done in the course of the day before your sunset with cold drinks as you watch the sun sink below the red sand dunes of Botswana.
Day 3: Flight from Central Kalahari game reserve to Okavango delta
Set within a private concession in the Okavango Delta, on the boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve, Pom Pom Camp is surrounded by the stunning scenery of the channels and waterways of the delta. Here, you can enjoy great leopard and big cat viewing, bush walks (dependent on season and walking conditions), birding (March to December), private night drives and off-road game drives, as well as water activities, such as fishing (March to December) and mokoro safaris (water level dependant).
Day 4: Explore Okavango Delta
After morning breakfast you will head out for a game drive in the park in search of wildlife such as Elephants, African Buffalo, Hippopotamus, Lechwe, Topi, Blue Wildebeest, Giraffe, Nile crocodile, Lion, Cheetah, Leopard, Brown Hyena, Spotted Hyena, Greater Kudu, Sable Antelope, Black Rhinoceros, White Rhinoceros, Plains Zebra, Warthog and later return to the lodge for quick lunch and take a mokoro canoe ride and later return to the lodge for relaxation and sundowner and after you will head out for a night game drive with a great opportunity to see the many animals that are more active at night than during the day such as Aardvarks, Aardwolves, Leopards, and Servals. Lions also hunt at night and it is a good chance to come upon them when they are feeding on a kill.
Day 5: Drive to Savuti area in Chobe national park
After morning breakfast you will start your drive to Savuti is best known for its predators, both big cats (lion, leopard and cheetah) and birds of prey–raptors, vultures and all manner of birds of prey that soar over Savuti’ landscape in search of food. Perhaps the strangest phenomenon of all about Savuti is the 100–kilometres Savuti Channel. At times it will stop flowing and remain dry for years at a stretch. When the Channel recommences its flow, it changes the entire ecosystem, transforming the Savuti Marsh and Mababe Depression into wetlands and thus creating an oasis that provides water for thirsty wildlife herds and acts as a magnet for a profusion of water birds.
Day 6: Full day game drives in Savuti (Chobe national park)
You wake up early in the morning to freshen up with some hot water in the face basin. This is followed by a light breakfast of some coffee, tea, rusks, cereals, bread, etc.
head out for game drive in the Savuti Marsh is a vast expanse of grasslands dotted with dead acacia trees, creating an intriguing, almost ghost–like landscape. You will return to camp around mid–day for lunch and some siesta time and later in the evening you will head out again for your afternoon game drive and later return to lodge for overnight.
