Detailed itinerary

Day 1: arrival in nairobi

Upon arrival, you will be picked up from the airport by our experienced safari guide and transferred to your hotel in Nairobi for an overnight.

Day 2: transfer to maasai mara national reserve-afternoon game drive

After an early breakfast on the second day of your 07 Day Kenya Safari, your Safari guide will meet you at your hotel in Nairobi, brief you about your safari before you start your journey to Masai mara National reserve. The drive to the park goes through the Rift Valley with many spectacular views during the journey.  Along the rim, as you descend into the valley, you will see many handicraft workshops set up for the display of local handicrafts made by the Maasai craftsmen.

Arrival time will be approximately at noon just in time for lunch. You may choose to check into your lodge immediately on arrival or have lunch then check in. You will have some relaxing time after lunch, then head out for the afternoon game drive which lasts between 3-4 hours. These game drives are quite intense in Maasai Mara as the variety and number of animals in the park are quite astounding.  With a large number of predators in the park, seeing them hunt is likely possible. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: maasai mara game drive on land and air

On the third day of your 7 Day Kenya Safari, you will have an early breakfast and go for a morning game drive.  Many of the animals in the park are consistently easier to view in the mornings, before the heat of the day, when many of them seek shelter from the sun. You will return for lunch after the morning game drive and thereafter later in the afternoon, head out for a ride in a hot air balloon for further viewing of game. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: transfer to lake nakuru national park-afternoon game drive

After breakfast, you will depart Maasai Mara and head out eastwards, back through the Rift Valley region of Central Kenya to Lake Nakuru National Park. You will notice the huge change in the topography and vegetation as you leave the Maasai Mara area. You will have Lunch enroute at a local Kenyan restaurant to experience traditional food.

After lunch you will proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park to view the millions of flamingos as they flock at the shores of Lake Nakuru to feed. You will also be able to view other species of birds around the lake. Later, you will go on a game drive within the Lake Nakuru National Park and view the largest concentration of rhinos in East Africa, both Black and White Rhinos. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: transfer to amboseli national park-afternoon game drive

After breakfast, you will drive back to Nairobi and enroute stop by at a local market or handicraft workshop. You will have an opportunity to see local crafts and a variety grown agricultural products. On arrival in Nairobi, you will have lunch at The Carnivore Restaurant which is famous for its barbequed game meat.

Upon entering the restaurant, you will see a chalkboard displaying the day’s catch, which can number to over 25 different varieties of game meat.

After lunch, you will drive to Amboseli national park, home to the proud Maasai Tribe and about 2,000 elephants. The Park borders Tanzania, and to south of the border is Mount Kilimanjaro.  The views of Kilimanjaro from Amboseli are spectacular.  After checking in at your hotel and a short rest, you will head out on an afternoon game drive.  Amboseli is most famous for its elephants, which seem to be everywhere as you move about the park. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6:  Amboseli National Park Full Day Game Drive

After breakfast, you will go on an all-day game drive in the park. Lunch will be a picnic, served on a site overlooking Mount Kilimanjaro, which is just south of the park, on the Tanzanian side of the border. Besides elephants, there are many other large mammals, predators, as well as spectacular birdlife in the park.  The dry lake bed of Lake Amboseli is quite large and a good place to see families of ostriches crossing the cracked sand beds.

You will also visit the great swamp areas, where you will encounter large numbers of hippos in the water.

Thereafter, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Return to Nairobi

On the last day of your Safari, you will have breakfast and start your drive back to Nairobi.  Enroute you will have the opportunity to stop and do some shopping at the Maasai handicraft shops by the side of the road.  Also, depending on the day of the week, your guide can take you to the Maasai Market in Nairobi. There are many sights in Nairobi to visit, and your guide will gladly take you on a tour if time permits. On arrival, you will check into your hotel for lunch and thereafter in the evening you will be driven to the airport for your departure flight.
