6 Days Serengeti Wildebeest Calving Season Safari

Second to Africa’s greatest wildlife spectacle in the vast plains of the Serengeti is the concentration of wildebeest in the Ndutu plains in the south of the park when the wildebeest cows arrive from Masai mara pregnant and head quickly to the southern plains to give birth this attracts a lot of predators from Hyenas, Leopard, Lions, Cheetahs that wait for the weak easy catch wildebeest calves.

Suggested safari itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Lake Manyara national park

After morning breakfast you will drive to Lake Manyara national park where you expect to see some dramatic views of the rift valley and upon arrival, you will have lunch and then take an evening game drive in the park in search of wildlife on the shores of Lake Manyara and you will enjoy a sundowner in the park with drinks and snacks and later return to the Lodge for dinner.

Day 2: Drive to Ngorongoro crater

After morning breakfast you will drive to the Ngorongoro conservation area for game drives and archeological visits of the Olduvai Gorge as they enjoy the breathtaking views of the crater flow which is one of the great pieces of evidence of the volcanic actions in Northern Tanzania then you stay overnight in the area.

Day 3: Drive to Serengeti NP

After morning game breakfast you will start your drive to Southern Serengeti where you will expect to encounter wildlife drama as the thousands of wildebeest usually in this area for calving season attraction a huge number of predators upon arrival you will check-in and embark on evening game drive in the plains of Southern Serengeti.

Day 4: Full day game drives in Southern Serengeti

After early morning breakfast, you will depart the Lodge with packed Lunch and cold drinks for a full day safari as you will aim at the big herds of wildebeest that are giving birth in the presence of the predators in the Ndutu plains, during the peak of the heat you will have your picnic under a nice shady tree as you look out for wildlife and later embark on other evening game drive to witness the wildlife drama.

Day 5: Full day game drives in Southern Serengeti

After several days of dramatic wildlife viewing, you will again out for a safari targeting the wildlife you have not seen and also check new areas in southern Serengeti and return to the Lodge for relaxation and a swim after you will head for a sundowner game drive in the park and later return to the Lodge for Dinner.

Day 6: Drive back to Arusha

You will bid farewell to the Lodge and start your drive to Arusha upon arrival in Arusha you will then be transferred to Kilimanjaro international airport for your onward flight.
