Safari itinerary
Day 1: Kigali city tour in the morning and drive to Volcanoes National Park
After morning breakfast you will drive to the Kigali genocide museum for a tour of the 1994 Rwanda genocide that took place between the Tutsi and Hutu, depending on the time you finish you will start your drive North West of Kigali to volcanoes national park upon arrival you will check in to your lodge for relaxation and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes NP
After morning breakfast full dressed in your gorilla trekking gear, your guide will pick you up and transfer you to the park station in Kinigi for gorilla briefing by the rangers after the briefing you will drive to the starting point for the gorilla trek where you will start walking on foot, upon locating the gorillas you will view, enjoy the playful babies, photograph the mountain gorillas for 1 hour and later return to the lodge for relaxation.
Day 3: Golden monkey tracking and transfer to Lake Kivu for relaxation
After morning breakfast you will again head into the park for yet another primate experience, the golden monkeys are one of the rear species of the primates found in restricted habitats, upon locating the golden monkeys you will spend 1 hour with them and later return to the lodge for refreshment and lunch, after lunch you will drive to Lake Kivu for relaxation and overnight.
Day 4: Drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park
After morning breakfast you will do a sunrise boat cruise on Lake Kivu after the boat cruise with a picnic lunch you will start your drive to Nyungwe forest national park which is one of the diverse tropical rainforests in East Africa with stunning 13 primate species including the Chimpanzees upon arrival at the lodge you check in to the lodge for relaxation.
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking experience in Cyamudongo
This will be an early start; you will meet the rangers at the park headquarters in Gisakura at 4:30 am and drive to Cyamudongo for your Chimpanzee trekking experience just like gorillas you will also spend 1 hour with the chimps after locating them and later you return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.
Day 6: Tropical waterfall walks in Nyungwe Forest
After Lazily breakfast you will meet the park rangers at the head to the mighty Nyungwe forest, this is one of the most beautiful forest covers in Rwanda, this walk will give you an opportunity to see monkeys, butterflies, birds before hitting the classic tropical waterfalls after the walk you will return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.
Day 7: Drive to Kigali for your flight
After early morning breakfast depending on your flight you will start your beautiful drive through the forest and upon arrival in Butale, you will visit the ethnographic Museum, enjoy lunch and later drive to Kings Palace Nyanza for the cultural visit and later drive to Kigali for your departure flight or overnight.
