6 Days Nigeria Cross river Gorilla Safari
Cross River National park is a 2,800 square kilometers park that was established in 1989. It consists of the Boshi Okwango forest Reserve and the southern Oban Hills forest reserve located about 3hours drive north of Calabar.
Cross River National Park is one of renowned Nigeria’s eco-tourism destinations where tropical rain forest rare animals and birds can be observed in their natural habitat. It is the only national park with a tropical rain forest. The park is covered by a humid tropical rain forest that covers the northern and central parts, mangrove swamps cover the coastal areas with the forest being crisscrossed by rivers and little streams.
The park is about an hour’s drive from Calabar, and it can also be connected through the Port Harcourt route and most tourists ultimately want to see the indigenous white-faced monkeys and the gorillas. Some other animals and birds that can be found in the park are Buffaloes, Wild Pigs, Forest Elephants, Antelopes, Chimpanzees, and Manatees. Also, other monkeys can also be found in that amazing environment.

Day 1: Arrival in Calabar
Our guide will pick you up for the long-distance drive from Abuja to Obudu plateau upon arrival you head to your accommodation facility at Protea Hotel Ranch Resort Obudu for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Drive to Cross river national park
After morning breakfast you will depart for cross river national park for a primate walk in search of different types of primates in the dense forest cover of the tropical rain forest and later take a picnic and do a canopy walk and later drive to Calabar for overnight.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking Experience
One hour after breakfast you will be engaged in some special activity of searching for the rear lowland gorillas in the Cross River National Park, Gorilla tracking can be tricky and clients are not guaranteed sightings but on a good day, you can see them and other primate species.
Day 4: Experience Kwa falls
Enjoy an adventure to the Kwa falls located in the Oban Division of the Cross River National Park. Take a deep plunge pool forms at the bottom of the waterfall which is characterized by well-arranged stairs of 234 steps from top to bottom. The nearby Kwa River sand beach is sure an icing on the cake, making Kwa falls, Nigeria’s own tropical paradise.

Day 5: Day at leisure
You will take a full day of relaxation at your lodge after a series of hiking activities in the Jungle and do cleaning up before taking a stroll to the town to discover more.
