Mount Nyiragongo is an active stratovolcano with an elevation of 3,470 m in the Virunga Mountains associated with the Albertine Rift. It is located inside Virunga National Park, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, about 20 km north of the town of Goma and Lake Kivu and just west of the border with Rwanda.
The tour will start and end at Dr Congo, Goma town. Also, the cost is based on 1 pax; also there is a Virunga tourist visa which is arranged by our company.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali Rwanda
Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be received by a guide from Wilderness explorers Africa and transferred to the lodge overnight.

Day 2: Drive to Goma in DR Congo
After morning breakfast you will drive to Goma town which is the tourist hub for Virunga national park and Nyiragongo hikers upon arrival you’ll clear border crossing before proceeding to the lodge for overnight and hiking briefing.

Day 3: Goma – Nyiragongo volcano hike
Drive to Goma park headquarters at 7.00 am greetings and briefing with your packed lunch, drive to Virunga National Park precisely at Kibati where there is the post rangers patrol, after the registration and briefing, enjoy Nyiragongo volcano hike starting at 1994m and ending at 3470m altitude at the summit, see the impressive lava lake in the largest crater, dinner and overnight up the summit in the Virunga National park shelter.

Day 4: Nyiragongo volcano – Goma
After a very early morning visit to the lava lake again, have your breakfasts then descend the volcanic mountain with a view of Karisimbi and Mikeno Volcanic Mountains, arrive at the starting point, write comments then drive back to the Goma border and cross to Rwanda.
Day 5: Drive to Kigali for your Flight
After lazily morning in you will drive to Kigali for your outbound.
