Bwindi Impenetrable National Park plays a host to one of Africa’s greatest wildlife encounters which you don’t need to miss while planning your safari vacation to Africa and Uganda at Large.

Bwindi is a 331 sq km national park located in southwestern Uganda stunning 450 km from the main capital Kampala making it easier to travel by air than by road.

Our 5 Days fly in Bwindi gorilla safari will give an opportunity to visit Queen Elizabeth national park for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel, chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura gorge, and game drives in Kasenyi plains and Ishasha sector for tree climbing Lions before heading to the rain forest for gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi.

Suggested safari itinerary

Day 1: Flight from Entebbe to Mweya airstrip in Queen Elizabeth national park

After early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Entebbe international airport for your domestic flight to Mweya airstrip upon arrival in Mweya you will be picked up and transferred for a boat cruise at 11 am and return by 1 pm for Lunch and after lunch, you will drive to Kyambura escarpment for a quick check-in and Later do an evening game drive in the Kasenyi plains and later return to the Lodge for overnight

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura gorge and transfer to Ishasha sector

After morning breakfast you will check out with your luggage and drive to Kyambura gorge for a chimpanzee trekking experience in one of Africa’s diverse forests located in the savannah plains, the trek alone in the forest which has a river running through which is home to hippos and several monkey species is one of the highlights of the trek then if you see chimpanzees then it’s a bonus after the trek you will start your drive to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park which is famous for tree-climbing lions if time allows you will do a short evening game drive.

Day 3: Game drives in Ishasha and transfer to Buhoma gorilla region

You will take an early morning game drive in the park in search of wildlife in the Morning and later return for breakfast after breakfast you take a long game drive in search of tree climbing lions after you will return for lunch and refreshment after you will drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park where you arrive in time for check-in and relaxation.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi forest

On this beautiful day of gorilla trekking, your day will start with a wake-up coffee or tea in your room as you watch the mist over the forest which will remind you of gorillas in the mist documentary featuring Diana Fossey after you will enjoy morning breakfast after you will be transferred to the park station for a briefing after the briefing you will then be split into groups of 8 and you will start your trek into the rainforest to find the gorillas after finding the Mountain gorillas you view, observe, photograph and film them for one hour after you will return to the Lodge for relaxation.

Day 5: Flight back from Bwindi to Entebbe

After morning breakfast you will be transferred to Kihihi airstrip for your flight to Entebbe depending on your flight a day room can be arranged in Entebbe at an extra cost and our guide in Entebbe will receive you and transfer you to the Lodge for relaxation and later you will be transferred to the airport for your outbound flight.
