Our 4 Days Uganda chimpanzee trekking safari will give you an opportunity to encounter the chimpanzees in Kibale forest national park which is a home to stunning 13 species of primates some of which include blue monkey, black and white colobus Monkey, grey checked Mangabey, Red tailed Monkey and nocturnal primates like potos and Galagos.

Suggested safari itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe

On arrival at Entebbe airport, you will be picked by our professional guide and transferred to you overnight accommodations where you will be able to check in freshen up and relax after a long flight to the pearl of Africa, Uganda.  Overnight and dinner will be at your accommodation in Entebbe.

Day 2: Mabamba swamp trip in the Morning and Transfer to Kibale national park

After an early breakfast, you will transfer to Mabamba wetland swamp in search of the rear shoebill stork after you will drive to Kibale national park with a number stops to stretch and then a lunch break in town of fort portal. you will then after proceed to you accommodation driving through the forest where you may have chance to see some primates and forest birds before you check in to lodge. You will have the remaining hours of the afternoon at leisure. Overnight and dinner at you lodge.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking in the morning and optional Bigodi swamp walk

Today after an early morning breakfast you will be escorted by your guide to the Uganda wildlife authority headquarters for your chimpanzee tracking experience. At the headquarters, you start by having a general briefing from the park authorities, a registration and after you will be allocated a forest guide for your excursion. this will take anywhere between 3 to 4 hours, on spotting them you will have 1 hour viewing them and take pictures, returning for lunch at your accommodation. this afternoon you can choose to relax at the lodge or go for an optional walk to the Bigodi swamp for a chance to see up to 9 other species of primates such as the black and white colobus monkey, red colobus monkey, red tailed monkey, blue monkey, baboons extra, and also up to 300 birds species found in this swamp. Overnight and dinner at your lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Entebbe

After a leisurely breakfast, you will depart for return to Entebbe to catch your flight with lunch en route and stops to stretch and pictures opportunities.

Best time for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest

The best time for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale is from May to October and from December to February when there is less rainfall.
