Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from Kigali and transfer to Volcanoes national park

After morning breakfast your guide will pick you up from the Lodge and take you for a short city tour of Kigali after the city tour depending on the time you may have Lunch in Kigali and after lunch, you will start your drive to Volcanoes national park for check-in and overnight

Day 2: Gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes national park

As the mist appears high up on top of the Volcanoes you will enjoy your early morning breakfast and after breakfast, you will be transferred to the Kinigi park headquarters for a briefing by the park rangers and after briefing, you will drive to the trailhead to start your trek into the rainforest after locating the gorillas you will spend one hour with the Mountain gorillas and later you will drive back to the lodge for relaxation.

Day 3: Golden monkey trekking experience in Volcanoes national park

After early morning breakfast, your guide will pick you up from Lodge and transfer you to Kinigi park headquarters for golden monkey trekking, just Like gorilla trekking you will have a briefing after the briefing you will then transfer to the starting point for golden monkey trekking, the hike for golden monkey is pretty mild and after locating the golden monkeys you will then view them for 1 hour after you will return to the Lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 4: Drive back to Kigali

This will be a lazy morning, depending on your flight schedule you will depart the lodge and visit the Diana Fossey Museum in Musanze town, after the visit you will then start your drive to Kigali upon arrival in Kigali you will then be transferred to your booked accommodation or to the airport for your outbound flight.

When to book safari package

6-1 year in advance for the purposes of securing gorilla permits as there are limited gorilla permits available every day in Volcanoes national park.

Best time to travel

Gorilla trekking in Rwanda is an all-year safari activity but the best time is usually during the dry season from May to October and from December to March when there is less rainfall or no rainfall making hiking easier.
