4 Days Grumeti River wildebeest Migration Safari

Grumeti River plays host to what is not known to many the first phase of the wildebeest river crossing in the Grumeti game area as the wildebeest make their way from southern Serengeti through the western corridor into Northern Serengeti where the spectacular Mara River takes places, the Grumeti River usually takes place between Mid-June as the wildebeest make their way to Kenya’s Masai Mara.

Suggested safari itinerary

Day 1: Drive from Arusha to the Grumeti Region in Western Serengeti

After morning game drive you will start your drive to Northern Tanzania through some of the most spectacular landscapes in Africa as your make your way to western Serengeti’s Grumeti game area depending on the time of arrival you may do a short game drive in the park in search of wildlife and birds before your dinner and Overnight.

Day 2: Full day game drives in the Grumeti area

After morning breakfast with packed lunch, you start a game drive in the western Serengeti’s rich game area as you advance to the Grumeti River which is famous for the first phase of the Wildebeest River crossing as the Wildebeest make their way to Northern Serengeti for the great migration which starts from July to September from Serengeti to Masai mara and then October to November from Masai mara to southern Serengeti when you locate the big herds of Wildebeest by Grumeti River you will follow them or wait for them to cross if they are by the River.

Day 3: Full day game drives in the Grumeti area

After an eventful day following the wildebeest herds, you will again spend the whole day game viewing and following the wildebeest, there is usually a lot of other wildlife like elephants, giraffes, Zebras, Lions, Cheetahs, Leopards, and Hyenas available in the game area after the drive you will enjoy a sundowner in the park and return to the Lodge for Overnight.

Day 4: Drive back to Arusha

After morning breakfast depending on your schedule and flight you will depart Serengeti’s western corridor for Arusha or Kilimanjaro airport for your outbound flight.
