4 Days Congo Gorilla Trekking Safari via Rwanda
DR Congo is one of the few destinations in Africa where you can trek the endangered mountain gorillas, gorilla trekking is done in Virunga national park which is located in the Virunga massif east of the main capital Kinshasa, our expert guides have been arranging gorilla trekking safaris for years and we know how and when to travel to the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

Detailed safari itinerary
Day 1: Pick up from Kigali and transfer to DR Congo
You will be received by our guide and transferred to the border in Gisenyi for immigration clearance and after you will be transferred to your lodge in Goma where you will have a briefing by our DR Congo guides and relax on the shores of Lake Kivu.
Day 2: Drive to Virunga national park
After morning breakfast you will be transferred to Virunga national park, on arrival you will check in to your lodge and later you will visit the Senkwekwe gorilla orphanage and later return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking experience in Virunga national park
After morning breakfast you will be picked up by your guide and transfer to the starting point for gorilla trekking, here you will meet the rangers and the porters, after briefing you will drive to starting point for your trek on foot, after locating the mountain gorillas you will spend 1 hour with the gorillas and later return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.
Day 4: Return to Rwanda and drive to Kigali
After morning breakfast you will be driven to the Goma border post to clear your immigration and after you will be driven to Kigali, on arrival you will transferred to your hotel.
NB: We do not recommend flying out of Kigali on the same day as there can be delays at the border crossing to Rwanda.

Best time to trek mountain gorillas in DR Congo
The best time to travel to DRC is during the long dry season from May to September, with July markedly the driest month, followed by June.
