Uganda is one of the top but less known safari destinations in East Africa overshadowed by Tanzania, Kenya and Rwanda but when it comes to gorilla trekking experience then no country beats Uganda in terms of the gorilla population concentrated in Bwindi impenetrable national park and Mgahinga gorilla national park which are among the four national parks in the world where you can see the Mountain gorillas in their natural habitat the other two national parks are Rwanda’s Volcanoes national park and Democratic republic of Congo’s Virunga national park for Mountain gorilla trekking experience.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Flight to Kihihi airstrip

After early morning breakfast our guide in Entebbe will transfer you to Entebbe Airport for your domestic flight to Kihihi airstrip, upon arrival in Kihihi our south western guide will receive you and transfer to Southern part of Queen Elizabeth national park for a game drive where you may have chances of seeing wildlife like buffalo, elephants, hippos, Uganda Kob, Leopard, Top, waterbucks, Warthog and tree climbing Lions and Lunch after you will then continue game driving in the park and enjoy an evening sundowner in the park.

Day 2: Morning game drives and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

You take an early morning game drive in the park in search of hyenas and elephants that roam the park early morning after return to the lodge for full breakfast and later continue game driving in search of tree lions and other wildlife and after return to the Lodge for Lunch and later you will transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park for overnight.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi impenetrable national park

After morning breakfast our guide will transfer you to the park station for a briefing about the day from Uganda wildlife Authority rangers, after the briefing you will be split in to smaller units based on the gorilla families and you will set off for the trek and after finding the Mountain gorillas you will spend one hour with the gorillas and then return back to the lodge for relaxation and Overnight.

Day 4: Flight back to Entebbe

Depending on your flight schedule and the flights available our guide will transfer you back to Kihihi airstrip for you flight back to Entebbe, upon arrival in Entebbe you will then be transferred to the airport for your outbound flight or transferred to your place of overnight.
