The 4 days Burundi birding tour is a unique safari that will allow you to see some of the bird species of Burundi as the country’s birding Habitat is heavily cleared out for farmland with the increasing pressure for Agriculture and human settlement.
This Safari will allow exploring Kibira National Park, Rusizi National Park, Vyanda nature reserve.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Bujumbura International Airport
Upon arrival at Bujumbura International Airport, our Guide will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel for Overnight and Relaxation.
Lunch: Not applicable
Overnight: Hotel du lac Tanganyika
Activity: Not Applicable.
Day 2: Full day birding In Rusizi National Park and Kigwena Forest Reserve
After morning breakfast you will transfer to Rusizi National Park for a boat cruise on River Rusizi and Lake Tanganyika and later drive to Kigwena forest reserve for more birding Adventure.
Lunch: Packed Lunch.
Overnight: Hotel du lac Tanganyika
Activity: Birding in Rusizi delta and Kigwena nature reserve
Day 3: Drive to Kibira National Park
After early morning breakfast, you will drive to Kibira national park for a full day birding safari in the forest bordering Rwanda’s Nyungwe national park, this is expected to be an incredible day as you will expect to add forest species to your list

Overnight: Hotel du lac Tanganyika

Day 4: Drive to Vyanda National Park
Early morning departure to Vyanda nature reserve for birding during the birding session birders can look out for the wild chimpanzees that exist in this forest and later return to Lodge for refreshment and departure.

Activity: Birding in Vyanda nature reserve in the morning.

The best time to travel to Burundi for this safari package is from May to September and from December to March when rainfall is low and birds are breeding around this time of the year.
