Our 2 Days Short Luxury Rwanda gorilla safari is a classic safari package that people can book at last minute while in Rwanda and enjoy a great encounter with Mountain Gorillas in their Natural Habitat in one of Africa’s diverse rain forests north west of the main capital Kigali.
The gorilla trekking experience will takes place in Volcanoes national park located in the northern part of Rwanda bordering Uganda and DR Congo and the famous Virunga massif which consists of forested land marks and now not active volcanoes.
Volcanoes national parks border Virunga national park in the DRC and Mgahinga gorilla national park in Uganda.
The now not active volcanoes found in the Virunga massive are Muhavura, Gahinga, sabyinyo, karisimbi and bisoke.
Suggested travel itinerary
Day 1: Pick up from Kigali and transfer to Volcanoes national park
After morning breakfast at your booked hotel you will be picked up by our guide and transfer for a short tour of Kigali genocide memorial after you will drive to Musanze town where you will visit the Diana fossey Museum before proceeding to your Lodge in Kinigi area at the base of volcanoes national park.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking Experience and return to Kigali
This will be one of the great days on your short gorilla trekking holiday as you prepare to come face to face with the rear and endangered mountain gorillas in the dense forest cover of Volcanoes national park, After morning breakfast our guide will pick you up and transfer you to the Kinigi park headquarters where you will meet our travellers for a briefing before gorilla trekking starts, the gorilla trekking experience can take anything from 2-7 hours in Rwanda that means that you may trek for the gorillas for 3 hours and view them for 1 hour and trek back for 3 hours upon return you will head to the Lodge for quick refreshment and start your 2 hour drive back to Kigali.

- Clients spent one night in volcanoes national park
- optional activities are possible on the day you drive to volcanoes national park but on the day of return after gorilla tracking will not be possible.
- for last minute bookings payments may need to be made in cash as bank transfers take 3-7 days but for advance bookings banks transfers can be possible
- This tour is favourable for clients who may have overnight stay in Kigali or have late departing flights we recommend flights that depart past midnight.
- This tour can depart any day any time based on the availability of gorilla permits.

- Means of transport is by 4×4 safari car as roads that led to tracking areas around volcanoes national park are not good.
- Tour is led and guided by experienced English speaking guide.
- It’s important to note that Rwanda gorilla permits are purchased at the offices of Rwanda Development Board the quicker the payment the easier to secure the gorilla permits.

When to book the 2 Days Rwanda gorilla safari holiday
This tour package can be booked any time of the year but it will require the travellers to have flexibility in their dates of travel as there are no guarantees on the availability of gorilla permits on specific dates in Rwanda.
Best time to trek Mountain gorillas in Rwanda
Rwanda is open for tourism all year round but the best months are from Late May to late September and from December- February.
