There is no better time to visit Tanzania and Kenya for a safari between July and October if your main focus is to see the Wildebeest Migration, with millions of Hooves tormenting the ground a thunder-like Noise is hard with the dusty cloud as the herds bunch up on the riverbank before taking the plunge; The Nile Crocodiles wait for the drama as the ambitious wildebeest struggle to reach fresh grazing plains in the Masai Mara. Little do they know; the infamous Mara lions form an intimidating viciously waiting across the plains.

Detailed safari itinerary

Day 1-Arrival in Kilimanjaro and transfer to Arusha for overnight

On arrival at Kilimanjaro international airport you will be received by our guide and transfer to your hotel in Arusha for a safari briefing and overnight

Day 2- Drive to Ngorongoro national park

After morning breakfast you will start your drive to Ngorongoro Crater which is one of Africa’s most famous sites and is said to have the highest density of wildlife in Africa.  Sometimes described as an ‘eighth wonder of the world’, on arrival you will check in to your lodge for relaxation and overnight

Day 3- Full day game drives in Ngorongoro national park

After morning breakfast with packed lunch you will decent to the vast, volcanic Ngorongoro Crater which is a home to the “African big 5” game (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino). Huge herds of wildebeests and zebras traverse the crater floor; you will enjoy game driving in the crater and later return to the lodge for overnight

Day 4-Drive to Serengeti to follow the wildebeest migration

After morning breakfast you will depart for Serengeti national park which is well known for its world’s largest wildlife migration and a high concentration of big cats like lions, cheetah, and hyenas. The wildlife migration referred to as “the Great Wildebeest migration” is an annual movement of a large group of animals of about 2million, the largest wildlife being the wildebeest some zebras and gazelle that move from Serengeti national park northwards to Masai Mara National Park and back to Serengeti on arrival you will check in to your lodge and enjoy evening game drive in the park

Day 5-Following the wildebeest Migration

After early morning breakfast and packed lunch you will make your way to Mara River as you look out for the areas where the wildebeest are concentrated, usually its hot and dusty, you will position your car perfectly and wait for a crossings to happen, the crossing usually happen the heat of the day, and later you will continue game driving in the park

Day 7-Following the Wildebeest Migration

After early morning breakfast, you will take a picnic lunch and head into the park, this drive will be slow as you will be looking out for the abundant wildlife that traverses the plains of Serengeti national park, some of the wildlife includes elephants, lions, cheetahs, leopard, Zebra and you will also be making you’re the Mara river to try and catch the wildebeest cross the Mara River, this is the highlight of your trip to the Serengeti, the wildebeest migration is an annual migration of Millions of wildlife from Serengeti to Masai mara after the lovely game drive you will return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 8-Drive from Serengeti to Masai mara to follow the Migration

After morning breakfast you will depart for Masai mara national reserve, this park is truly a wildlife sanctuary, on arrival you will check in to your lodge for relaxation and after you will head out for a game drive as you look out for mega wildebeest herds and predators you will expect to see wildlife like Lions, Cheetahs, Elephants, Zebras, Hippos. Wildebeest, Thompson’s gazelle, Crocodile, leopard, Giraffes, Rhinos and so many bird species

Day 9-Following the Migration

After an early morning breakfast with picnic lunch you will drive to Mara River which is the area where the wildebeest Migration crosses from serengit to Masai Mara, depending on the day you may see the wildebeest crossing live, and also see incredible number of predators that come in to hunt the wildebeest and later you will enjoy more gam drive in the park in search of more wildlife and later return to the lodge for overnight

Day 10-Following the Migration

Yet another exciting day, you will enjoy full day game drives as you follow the Mega wildebeest herds in the open and vast plains of Masai Mara, this reserve never seems to disappoint as you will see abundant wildlife and birds and later you will enjoy sundowner in the park later drive to the lodge for overnight

Day 11: Drive back to Nairobi to connect your flight to Uganda

Cross the plains of the Mara and climb the Rift Valleys eastern wall past Mount Suswa on the return drive to Nairobi (approximately 6 hours) upon arrival you will be transferred to the airport to connect your flight to Entebbe, upon arrival you will be received by our guide in Uganda and transfer to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 12: Domestic flight from Entebbe to Kihihi airstrip

After early morning breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your domestic flight to Kihihi upon arrival you will receive by our guide and transferred to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 13: Full day gorilla trekking experience

After morning breakfast fully dressed in your trekking gear you will be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing by park rangers and after you will start your trek in to the rainforest to locate the gorillas and after locating the gorillas you will spend 1 hour with gorillas and later return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 14: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation

After Lazily breakfast you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi arriving in time for lunch and after lunch you will relax and take an evening boat cruise on the lake, you will Have chance to see local fishermen and enjoy classic sun set on the lake.

Day 15: Drive back to Entebbe for your late evening departure flight

Depending on your flight you will depart Lake Bunyonyi for Entebbe via the Equator, upon arrival you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
