Bwindi Impenetrable National Park lies in south-western Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley. Its mist-covered hillsides are blanketed by one of Uganda’s oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests, which dates back over 25,000 years and contains almost 400 species of plants. More famously, this “impenetrable forest” also protects an estimated 450 mountain gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population, including several habituated groups, which can be tracked.

Detailed safari itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe and transfer to your lodge

After long flight to the pearl of Africa, upon arrival you will clear immigration after our guide will pick you up and transfer to your luxury hotel in Entebbe for relaxation and overnight.

Day 2: Domestic flight from Entebbe to Bwindi forest

After an early morning breakfast, our guide will pick you up and transfer you Entebbe for your domestic flight to Bwindi, upon arrival our guide in South west will receive you and drive you to Bwindi impenetrable national park, upon arrival you will check in to your luxury lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 3: First gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi forest

On this beautiful day of gorilla trekking your day will start with a wake up coffee or tea at your room as you watch the mist over the forest which will remind you of gorillas in the mist documentary featuring Diana fossey after you will enjoy morning breakfast after you will be transferred to the park station for a briefing after the briefing you will then be split into groups of 8 and you will start your trek in to the rainforest to find the gorillas after finding the Mountain gorillas you view, observe, photograph and film them for one hour after you will return to the Lodge for relaxation.

Day 4: Second gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi forest

After morning breakfast you will head again to the forest for your second gorilla trekking experience, on this day you will visit a different gorilla family and you will have yet another experience with the mountain gorillas after the trek you will return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 5: Return flight from Bwindi to Entebbe and connect to Kilimanjaro

After morning breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Entebbe, upon arrival you will then be check in for your connecting flight to Kilimanjaro, upon arrival our guide will receive you and transfer you to Arusha for overnight.

Day 6: Domestic flight from Arusha to Serengeti national park

After morning breakfast you will be picked from your lodge and transfer to the Airstrip for your domestic flight to Serengeti national park, this is one of Africa’s top wildlife viewing destinations, upon arrival you will be received by our guide and transfer to your lodge for lunch and relaxation after you will enjoy an evening game drive in the park as you will follow the wildebeest herds and also look out for the predators like lions, cheetahs, leopards.

Day 7: Full day game drives in Serengeti national park

You will enjoy full day game drives in the Serengeti national park; this park is huge so some times you may spend the whole day in park with picnic lunch as you follow the wildebeest herds.

Day 8: Full day game drives in Serengeti national park

You will enjoy morning hot air balloon safari in park and later return to lodge for relaxation and later take an evening game drive in the park as you will look out for wildlife you may have missed and later return to the lodge for overnight.

Day 9: Drive to Ngorongoro conservation area

After morning breakfast you will you will start your drive from Serengeti to Ngorongoro conservation area, this is one of the top places in Tanzania to see the African Big five, upon arrival you will check in to your lodge and enjoy the endless views of the crater.

Day 10: Full day game drives in Ngorongoro crater

After morning breakfast with packed lunch you will decent to the crater floor for a full day game drive in search of wildlife, this area boost good wildlife viewing all year round as the wildlife in the crater do not participate in the annual migration after the drive you will return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 11: Drive back to Kilimanjaro for your own ward journey

After morning breakfast you will start your drive to Kilimanjaro arriving in time for lunch and relaxation at your day room near the airport, after your guide will pick you up and transfer you to the airport for your own ward Journey.

Best time to Trek mountain gorillas in Uganda and see wildlife in Tanzania

We recommend travelling in February and from Late July to October when the wildebeest Migration is at its best and its also dry season in Uganda.
