Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kinshasa

Kinshasa Ndjili international airport pick up, greetings and assist you with the check-in formalities, drive downtown for briefing, have an option of the guided night while visiting some moving places in Kinshasa (Nganda and night clubs) while watching how local people dance while eating local food called Maboke with the Congo beer (primus), dinner and overnight at your Beatrice hotel (top range based on a single room with a single bed, self-contained one with hot shower and internet included).

Day 2: Kinshasa – Congo River- Kinshasa

After early morning breakfast, with your packed lunch, drive 30kms from the town precisely at Kinkole to the harbor and take the private boat on the Congo River where you are going to enjoy the boat ride in contact with the majestic Congo River crossing the heart of Africa, our navigation will take us to Lukunga village which is a small island very close to the Congo Republic. The Congo River flowing 4,700 km through the Democratic Republic of Congo to the Atlantic Ocean, it is the second-longest river in Africa. It flows through three contrasting regions: the upper Congo, characterized by lakes, waterfalls, and rapids; the middle Congo, with seven cataracts known as Boyoma Falls; and the lower Congo, which divides into two branches forming a vast lake area called the Malebo Pool. Congo River offers about 1750 km of cruising in the real green jungle forest from Kisangani’ to Kinshasa; an excellent tourist attraction. And the best place to be. You are on a natural border between Kinshasa and Brazzaville the two nearest capital in the world. We offer you a unique unforgettable day on the Congo River using a speed boat with a powerful engine from Kinkole to Maluku a close fisher’s village. You will get an opportunity of sharing a good time with a natural River crossing a real untouched jungle, arrive in Maluku, take the vehicle back to Kinshasa town with a stopover at Nsele. Nsele is the historical town where the late president Mobutu gave his speech of 24 November, the date which is considered as the fishing national day at the time where the Democratic Republic of the Congo was called Zaïre, discover the show of traditional song and dances (folklore) within the spirit of magical scenery. People in this country are fans of dances and songs, everywhere you go, all ethnic issues are known and expressed only by dances and traditional songs. You will be offered a unique moment to live the soul of Africa with a traditional demonstration, arrive in Kinshasa town, dinner, and overnight at Beatrice hotel.

Day 3: Kinshasa – Mbombo Lumene Hunting Reserve

After early morning breakfast, drive to Mbombo Lumene Hunting Reserve located at the Northern Part of Kinshasa town via Maindombe River; have the forest walk crossing the creeper bridge, have bathed in Mbombo Lumene River, overnight in the tent (budget). Meal included.

Day 4: Mbombo Lumene – Kinshasa

After breakfast, drive back to Kinshasa with a stopover at N’sele Park was we have some attractions. N’sele Park was created by the late president Mobutu; arrive in Kinshasa, overnight at Beatrice hotel.

Day 5: Kinshasa (Lola Ya Bonobos)

After early morning breakfast, this day as you work with a Congo River dream, drive to Lola Ya Bo Bonobo’s Sanctuary and visit our closest cousin. This one of great apes has got about 99% of genetic similarity with a human being. You can find the species only in DR Congo, drive back to Kinshasa for lunch then proceed with an afternoon city tour, overnight at Beatrice hotel.

Day 6: Kinshasa – Zongo Waterfalls

After early morning breakfast, drive to Bas Congo precisely at Zongo waterfall via Inkisi town. Zongo Waterfalls is an amazing waterfall and natural wonder found in a very lost place in Bas Congo. You will enjoy a spectacle of waterfalls about 65 m on rocks and produce natural jet about 10 m which makes able a natural bath, water is coming from the mountain and it falls on the rocks from a height of 65 m, and after that, the water is scattered in the rocks from which water shower is coming. You will take the advantage of that fresh shower. A real unforgettable moment with an adventurous spirit. Follow the guide and visit an Electrical Dam near the site and a small village, overnight at Seli Safari Resort((2 stars based on a single room with a single bed, breakfast, self-contained one with hot shower).

Day 7: Zongo

After early morning breakfast, drive about 10kms from the lodge and visit the Massana beach at the Congo River with its waterfall while seeing the Congo Republic at the other bank of the River then drive back to the lodge for lunch, overnight at Seli Safari Resort.

Day 8: Zongo Waterfalls – Kisantu Botanical Garden

After early morning breakfast, drive to Inkisi and visit Kisantu Natural Botanical Garden with plants and trees from everywhere in the world, The Inkinsi River crosses the garden and offers majestic spectacles. This is a huge work of a catholic missionary called Père Gullet who created the site in 1900. Natural plants and trees from DR Congo which are collected everywhere in the world, lunch, dinner, and overnight at Kisantu Guesthouse (budget class based on a single room with a single bed, self-contained room without a hot shower and no internet included but clean and safe). Meal included.

Day 9: Kisantu Botanical Garden – Mbanzangungu

After early morning breakfast, drive to Mbanzangungu (Tysville) where we are going to visit the cave, go 5 km from the city and visit the tomb of the former village chief called FINZOLU NDOMBOZI, have an evening city tour, overnight at the Mbanzangungu Guesthouse (mid-range based on a single room with a single bed, breakfast, self-contained with hot shower and internet included).

Day 10: Mbanzangungu – Kinshasa

After early morning breakfast, drive back to Kinshasa; relax at Kinsuka rapids where you are going to sit at the restaurant and have a drink while watching the rapids on the Congo River with the Congo Brazzaville in front of you, overnight at Beatrice hotel.

Day 11: Departure

After breakfast, depending on your flight schedule, drive to Ndjili International Airport and take your flight back home at, end of the trip.

What’s included in the Safari

The cost for 1pax will be $3310 including transportations (a vehicle, driver, fuel, road government taxes, a private boat on the Congo River), accommodations as described in the program, permits entry fees in different visit areas, a meal at Mbombo Lumene and Kisantu Botanical Garden, drinking water and an English speaking guide.

What’s excluded in the safari
