Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kinshasa

Arrive in Kinshasa, assist at the airport by your guide, and drive to the hotel.  Briefing about the entire tour and free day tour, overnight at Grand hotel de Kinshasa (top class based on a single room).

Day 2: Kinshasa – Congo River- Kinshasa

After early morning breakfast, with your packed lunch, drive 30kms from the town precisely at Kinkole to the harbor and take the private boat on the Congo River where you are going to enjoy the boat ride in contact with the majestic Congo River crossing the heart of Africa, our navigation will take us to Lukunga village which is a small island very close to the Congo Republic. The Congo River flowing 4,700 km through the Democratic Republic of Congo to the Atlantic Ocean, it is the second-longest river in Africa. It flows through three contrasting regions: the upper Congo, characterized by lakes, waterfalls, and rapids; the middle Congo, with seven cataracts known as Boyoma Falls; and the lower Congo, which divides into two branches forming a vast lake area called the Malebo Pool. Congo River offers about 1750 km of cruising in the real green jungle forest from Kisangani’ to Kinshasa with excellent tourist attractions. And the best place to be. You are on the natural border between Kinshasa and Brazzaville the two nearest capital in the world. We offer you a unique unforgettable day on the Congo River using a speed boat with a powerful engine from Kinkole to Maluku a close fisher’s village. You will get an opportunity of sharing a good time with a natural River crossing a real untouched jungle, arrive in Maluku, take the vehicle back to Kinshasa town with a stopover at Nsele. Nsele is the historical town where the late president Mobutu gave his speech of 24 November, the date which is considered as the fishing national day at the time where the Democratic Republic of the Congo was called Zaïre, discover the show of traditional song and dances (folklore) within the spirit of magical scenery. People in this country are fans of dances and songs, everywhere you go, all ethnic issues are known and expressed only by dances and traditional songs. You will be offered a unique moment to live the soul of Africa with a traditional demonstration, arrive in Kinshasa town, dinner, and overnight at Grand Hotel de Kinshasa.

Day 3: Villages visit

After early morning breakfast, drive to Kinkole again and take our private pirogue and navigate on the Congo River while visiting Mangengenge. Mangengenge is the true type of traditional village gathering hundreds of inhabitants, located in the valley boarding a magic mountain at the summit on which hundreds of believers from different religious confessions go for prayer. Villagers will relate to you the mystery of the Sirene with its history, overnight in the tent near the Congo River.

Day 4: Fishing line

After early morning breakfast, we continue with our expedition for about 3 hours in order to reach the fishing encampment, at our arrival, we will prepare our fishing equipment, after lunch, we go out and test our equipment followed by the visit of the village, evening time, return to the encampment where we will overnight in the tent.

Day 5: Fishing line

After early morning breakfast, we continue our expedition again for about 3 hours in order to reach the fishing encampment, at our arrival, we will prepare our fishing equipment, after lunch, we go out and test our equipment followed by the visit of the village, evening time, return to the encampment where we will overnight in the tent.

Day 6: Fishing line to elephant islands

After early morning breakfast, we embark and go upstream the Congo River and reach the elephant’s islands, have another fishing experience, overnight at the encampment in the tent.

Day 7: Tshumbiri village

After early morning breakfast, take our boat and transfer to Tshumbiri. The navigation will take a full day on the Congo River and will take us between 2 Congos, overnight in the tent. It is in this village where we leave the boat and take the vehicle and drive to Nkala village in the community forest where we have Bonobos.

Day 8: Transfer to Nkala

After early morning breakfast, take our vehicle and drive to Nkala village where we are supposed to reach in the evening time, have the village visit and greet the village chief, enjoy the folkloric dance by Teke with praising songs to Bonobos, listen to different stories by local people, overnight in the guest house or in the tent.

Day 9: Bonobos visit – Tshumbiri – Socowa village

Very early morning around 4.30 am, enter in the forest and reach at Bonobos nests before the sunrise, search for Bonobos and try to see if by chance we are going to find them, return to the village for lunch. Note: This is the Bolobo region where Bonobos were discovered, it was pronounced Bonobos accidentally but it should be called Bolobo. After lunch, we are going to drive back to Tshumbiri and take our boat to Kinshasa, overnight at Socowa village (a small village located at the mouth of Kasai River which flows into the Congo River, overnight in the tent.

Day 10: Socowa village – Kinkole

After early morning breakfast, take our boat and descend to Kinkolethen drive back to Kinshasa, overnight at Grand hotel de Kinshasa.

Day 11: Departure

After breakfast, depending on the flight program, drive to Ndjili (Kinshasa) International Airport and take your flight back home at, end of the trip.

What’s included in the Safari

The cost for 1 pax will be $5720 including transportations (the vehicle, a driver, fuel, the private boat on the Congo River ), accommodations in hotels and under tents as, permits and entry fees in different visit areas, fishing materials, all arrangements as written in the program, food on Congo River, drinking water and an English speaking guide.

What’s excluded in the safari

Not included your flights, visas, medical service, tips, individual insurance, a meal outside the Congo River, other drinks, and everything not listed in the program.
