Mount Gahinga Lodge is a charming lodge built using traditional technics to give people that extra-ordinary comfort at the base of the volcanoes before or after mountain gorilla trekking in Mgahinga gorilla national park.

The beautiful hand-built bandas reflect the magic of the aesthetic traditions of the Bufimbira people. Each Banda has an ensuite luxury shower room, fireplace, and private porch.

The lodge has eight traditional hand-built guest bandas facing the magical Virunga Volcanoes (Two deluxe and six standard rooms).

Mount Gahinga lodge is located 5 minutes’ walk from the Ntebeko gorilla trekking region of Mgahinga gorilla national park and it’s only a 14 kms drive from Kisoro town. The lodge is perfectly perched at the base of the Virunga volcanoes of Muhavura, Gahinga, and Sabyinyo.

How to get to Mount Gahinga Lodge

Clients traveling to Mount Gahinga lodge may either drive or fly into Kisoro town and then transfer by 4×4 vehicles to the lodge, the lodge is perched at the base of the volcano 14 km from Kisoro town. Our recommended routes are via the Rwandan capital Kigali or flying from Entebbe to Kisoro airstrip and taking 40 minutes to drive in a 4×4 vehicle.
