Mountain gorilla trekking is a very sensitive activity which requires one to follow rules of conservation in order to have low impact tourism and the animals to enjoy they freedom in the wild.

Gorilla trekking in Uganda’s Bwindi impenetrable national park and Mgahinga gorilla national Park is an all year activity depending on the booking status of gorilla permits and this was approved by the independent conversation after carrying out research on the behavior of Mountain gorillas in the wild.

What is the recommended time one should spend with the Mountain gorillas depends on which gorilla activity your under taking, Uganda offers both regular trekking and gorilla habituation experience, the regular trekking is when clients are strictly allowed to spend 1 hour with the gentle giants after locating them and the number of family members you see will be dependent on the habitat and for gorilla habituation experience clients are allowed to spend 4 hours from the time they identify the nest to when they located the actual gorilla family under habituation.

How much is price for regular trekking or Gorilla habituation

Though prices fluctuate regularly currently Uganda’s regular gorilla permits go for $700 per person per gorilla permit for 1 hour experience and the gorilla habituation permits go for $1500 per person per trek for 4 hours experience.
