Expedition overview
Guests on this trip will arrive through Rwandan capital Kigali; Kigali is one of the most beautiful cities in Africa with an extraordinary history back from the 1994 Rwandan Genocide which claimed lives of over 800,000 people.
East African visas will be required for guests on this safari, this will allow access to both Uganda and Rwanda as the gorilla trekking will take place in Uganda’s Bwindi impenetrable national park.

Drive time from Kigali to Bwindi impenetrable national park is 4-5 hours via Katuna or Cyanika land borders.
Safari itinerary
After a delightful morning in Entebbe which is surrounded by Lake Victoria, one of Africa’s largest freshwater bodies you will be picked up by your guide and start your drive through the populated outskirts of the capital Kampala, en route you see incredible hillsides dotted with tea and forest cover on arrival in Kibale you will check in and relax at your lodge and later in the evening, you will do a primate walk in Bigodi wetlands and later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Lodge: Kibale forest camp or similarAfter waking up with the sounds of the wild, you will enjoy morning breakfast and after transfer to the Kanyanchu Park office of Kibale forest which is home to 13 species of primates, elephants, duikers and rear birds like the green-breasted pitta, on arrival, you will meet the rangers for a briefing and after you will set off for 3-4 hour trek and upon locating the chimpanzees you will spend 1 hour with them as you view them playing, grooming, eating and displaying all sorts of behaviour and after you will return to park depending on the time you may have lunch or set off for Queen Elizabeth arriving in time for a short game drive in search of wildlife like lions, leopard, elephants, buffalos, hyenas, Uganda kob and later you will return to lodge for overnight.
Lodge: Twin lakes safari lodge or similar.After lazily morning breakfast you will enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel in search of wildlife like crocodiles, hippopotamus, elephants, buffalos, water backs and beautiful birds on the shores of the channel after you will drive to Bwindi's impenetrable national park.
Lodge: Buhoma havens lodge or similar.Standing near the silverback mountain gorillas with their babies has always been everyone’s dream, on this day you will visit one of Africa’s finest tropical rainforests in search of the rear mountain gorillas, as you enjoy breakfast at the lodge the trackers have already set off to trek this gentle giant in the misty rainforest, after breakfast you will head to the trailhead to meet the rangers for a briefing and after you lead ranger guide will lead you to where the gorillas have been sighted, you will enjoy 1 peaceful hour with the gorillas and after you will return to the park for debrief and later drive to Lake Bunyonyi one of the deepest lakes in Africa for relaxation.
Lodge: Lake Bunyonyi bird nest Resort or similar.On this day you will bid farewell to the lodge and start your drive back to Entebbe via the Equator where you have the opportunity to take pictures, shop for souvenirs and later continue to Entebbe for your onward journey.

Gorilla and chimpanzee permits need to be secured in good time as there are very few available and they are sold by the government of Uganda under Uganda wildlife authority but last minute enquiries can be made through our office in Entebbe for any available permits.
Booking advice
This tour package can be booked any time of the year however we highly recommend booking slightly early due to the high demand for gorilla permits during the summer holidays from June to October and from December to February.
