The Wongo National Park is found in Mali. It was established on the 16th of January 2002 and covers 534 km².
The park is part of the Bafing Biosphere (along with Kouroufing National Park and Bafing National Park) the biosphere includes the Manding Plateau and Manding Mountain. It rains in the national park from June to October. Temperatures are always moderate throughout the year. Cases of poaching have increased. The park is administered and managed by the National Parks Department which is under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Animal Husbandry.

Things to do in Wongo national park
Northeast of the park is Lake Manantali, an artificial lake. It is a park dedicated to the conservation of chimpanzees though tourism is currently not developed there are future plains by Mali’s ministry of tourism to habituated the West African chimpanzees once peace prevails in the country.
There is also a great opportunity of spotting forest birds in the national park.
When to visit Wongo national park
October, November, December, and January are the best time to visit Mali. This is the dry season, but the harmattan has yet to fully kick in, so it’s the most pleasant time to travel and game viewing can be good.

There are currently no developed tourist attractions in the national park and those wanting to visit must contact Mali’s tourism ministry for an option of camping in the area.
