Egypt Safari Tours & Holidays
Egypt, a country linking northeast Africa with the Middle East, dates to the time of the pharaohs. Millennia-old monuments sit along the fertile Nile River Valley, including Giza’s colossal Pyramids and Great Sphinx as well as Luxor’s hieroglyph-lined Karnak Temple and Valley of the King’s tombs. The capital, Cairo, is home to Ottoman landmarks like Muhammad Ali Mosque and the Egyptian Museum, a trove of antiquities.
An Egyptian vacation is always full of excitement for every member of the family in 2021. At the heart of Egypt’s cultural identity is Cairo, a cosmopolitan capital where historic churches, mosques and museums rub shoulders with luxury hotels and gourmet restaurants.

The health sector of Egypt
Egypt has a highly pluralistic health care system, with many different public and private providers and financing agents. Health services in Egypt are currently managed, financed, and provided by agencies in all three sectors of the economy—government, parasternal, and private. But this does not cover foreign travellers so ensure you purchase travel and medical insurance before travelling to Egypt.
Malaria and Yellow fever vaccination for Egypt
Travellers who do not have proof of vaccination will be quarantined for up to 6 days. The vaccination requirement is imposed by this country for protection against Yellow Fever since the principal mosquito vector Aedes aegypti is present in its territory.
Egypt had eliminated malaria, and until now, the last locally transmitted case was in 1998.

The official currency in EGYPT is the Egyptian Pound (EGP), 1 Euro = about 8.5 EGP and 1 Us dollar = about 5.8 EGP. Foreign currency, traveller’s cheques and Euro cheques can be exchanged at the airport upon arrival, as well as in all major banks. Major credit cards are accepted in hotels, restaurants, shops etc.
Official Language of Egypt
The official language of Egypt is Arabic, and most Egyptians speak one of several vernacular dialects of that language. As is the case in other Arab countries, the spoken vernacular differs greatly from the literary language.
Best time to travel to Egypt
The best time to visit Egypt is between October and April, when temperatures are cooler, but still pleasantly warm across the country. This makes exploring the busy streets of Cairo, visiting the Pyramids in the desert, and exploring ancient Pharaonic tombs more comfortable and enjoyable.
What to wear in Egypt
Avoid tight-fitting clothing, clothing that is too revealing (esp cleavage), and shorts. Short sleeve t-shirts are fine. Skinny jeans are ok as well as you will see many Egyptian women wearing these.

Car hire and driving in Egypt
None of the big companies allows vehicles to be taken outside Egypt. In some areas outside of Cairo and main cities, tourists may be required to drive in a security convoy that leaves several times a day. so we don’t recommend self-drive in Egypt.
Accommodation in Egypt
Present-day Cairo is located near the Nile River, it has long been settled. In the 4th century, for example, Romans built a fortress town on the banks of the river called Babylon. In 641, Muslims took control of the area and moved its capital from Alexandria to the new, growing city of Cairo. There are plenty of accommodation facilities but outside Cairo, advance booking is required before travelling.
Local food of Egypt
Egyptian cuisine is characterized by dishes such as full medames, mashed fava beans; kushari, a mixture of lentils, rice, pasta, and other ingredients; molokhiya, chopped and cooked bush okra with garlic and coriander sauce; and feteer meshaltet.
Tipping while Travelling in Egypt
The word ‘baksheesh’ can refer to a tip or a bribe and it is a word you are likely to hear when travelling around Egypt as tipping is a natural part of daily life. You’re likely to have a tip requested from you by anyone who has provided a service including the usual, waiters and drivers, to the less expected, including security guards at some tourist sites. As a guide, it’s customary to tip restaurant staff with 10% of the bill (assuming a service charge has not already been added though this goes to the restaurant and not to the waiter), the housekeeping staff at hotels around USD $5 per day, taxi drivers around $5 and cruise staff $20 per day to be divided between the on-board crew. When delivering your baksheesh, fold the notes in your hands and pass the money in the form of a handshake.

There has been a spike in petty crime since 2011, though it is statistically still quite rare for tourists to become involved and is easily avoided.
