Dorale and Khor Ambado Beach

Located 15 kilometers from Djibouti City, the Dorale and Khor Ambado beaches are perfect for various water sports and cruising. And if you are looking to relax and unwind as you enjoy an amazing sunset on an African beach, these two beaches are the perfect spots. They are surrounded by black lava cliffs for exploration and diving.

One of the best relaxation spots where you can enjoy a variety of water activities such as snorkeling, swimming, etc. Khor Ambado is nicknamed the French beach because French militaries based in the city used to take their families there. To access the beach, you’ll need a 4WD because the road is really bad and you don’t want to get stuck in the sand.

Although a lot of foreigners converge at this beach, still note that Djibouti is predominantly Muslim and care should be taken when it comes to exposure, especially women.

Walks on the sand are so nice, sunbathing, viewing the sunset and water sports are some of the interesting things to do at the beach and travelers can access the beach any time though weekends can be crowded and the best time to visit would be on weekdays.
