Lewa Wildlife Conservancy Kenya
Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is one of the wildlife destinations to visit on safari tours in Kenya that saves the endangered rhinos and other animals including Grevy’s zebra, giraffes, lions, elephants, and wild dogs.
There are so many wildlife species in Kenya that you will be awestruck whenever you see any and this conservancy makes for one of the best places for that experience. Lewa Wildlife Conservancy has a vision of protecting wildlife and educates people regarding the same and many more topics including water conservation, youth empowerment, and healthcare.
This destination uses various technological advancements to conserve animals making it a safe refuge for the wildlife. It also offers unsurpassable safari experiences making it one of your best Kenya safari holiday tours.
The dirty skies of Nairobi recede as we fly 45 minutes north from the capital, past the cloud-ringed peak of Mount Kenya to the golden savannah of the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, which contains roughly 12 percent of all Kenya’s rhinoceros. To Lewa’s northwest lies the Laikipia Plateau—a tapestry of farms, Maasai cattle encampments, and private ranches alongside swaths of land that have been turned over to wildlife conservation. We fly over Simpson’s house, a glass-and-stone bungalow set on a rock where 22 elephants broke into his garden the week before, then tip deeper into the plateau’s wilds, spotting a herd of a reticulated giraffe—of the estimated 4,700 that remain, around 30 percent are in Laikipia—and a black rhino, its calf trotting behind.
