“The Closest you can get to the Wild” With its raised wooden boardwalk that allows for uninterrupted views of the animals, the Safari Walk is a showcase for Kenya parks and Reserves, allowing visitors to discover what they can expect to see across the country. Visitors can see a sample of the country’s rich animal life including the rare bongo, white rhino, and albino zebra as well as big cats, antelopes, and primates. It is also home to some 150 species of local trees.                                                        

Nairobi being the only capital city that has a National park within its borders means that you come from the concrete jungle to the actual jungle in less than an hour. The beauty of the Nairobi National Park is that it has various sections; you can either visit the animal orphanage which as the name suggests houses orphaned animals.

It has a wide variety of animals which include; Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Buffalo, Antelope, Zebra, Pygmy Hippo, Bongo Rhino, Columbus Monkey, eland and White Rhino There are also reptiles and a wide variety of birds and insects. There are over 400 species of birds 20 of which are seasonal European migrants.

How to get to the Nairobi safari walk

The Nairobi Safari Walk is located on Langata Rd next to the KWS HQ and the main entrance to the Nairobi National Park. From the CBD, take Langata Matatu number 15, or Karen/Hardy Matatu number 24, or Kiserian Matatu number 126/127, and alight at the KWS gate.
