15 Days Photographing Wildebeest Migration in Kenya and Tanzania

Detailed safari itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kilimanjaro, Clear your Kit and transfer to your lodge for relaxation (book flights arriving early in Tanzania)
On arrival at Kilimanjaro international airport in Tanzania, you will clear your equipment if need be, and after you will be received by our representative and transferred to your hotel for relaxation and overnight.
Day 2: Drive to Lake Manyara national park
After morning breakfast you will drive to Lake Manyara national park, on arrival you will check in for a quick lunch and check in after you will head out for an evening game drive where you will start your photography adventure right in the heart of Lake Manyara home to hippo, giraffe, impala, and zebra, and its lake a magnet for birdlife, including sizeable flocks of pink flamingos. Mahogany and sausage trees are alive with blue and vervet monkeys; elephants feed on fallen fruit, and bushbuck, baboons, and leopard make their homes in the forest and lions that like to climb trees sometimes, till sunset and later return to the lodge for overnight.
Day 3: Drive to Ngorongoro Crater
An early morning quick drive to photograph wildlife in the sunrise and the Flamingos in particular after return to the lodge for full breakfast and after starting your drive to Ngorongoro highlands to visit the Masai village and later transfer to the lodge for overnight.
Day 4: Full day photographing in Ngorongoro Crater
After early morning breakfast, you will descent to the Crater floor for a full-day game drive where you will expect to encounter wildlife like lions, cheetahs, hyenas, leopards, jackals, serval cats, and the endangered Rhinos. There are over 550 recorded species of birds in the Conservation Area, this is also one of the hotspots for the African big five wildlife and later in the evening, you will return to the lodge overnight.
Day 5: Drive to Serengeti national park
After early morning breakfast, you will depart for Serengeti national park, this is one of the wildlife heavens in the World housing an extremely big diversity of wildlife and birds some of the key species to look out for include lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and black rhino (although these are rarely spotted) – to giraffe, Grant’s gazelle, impala, kongoni, topi and eland on arrival you will check in to your lodge for check-in and overnight.
Day 6: Full day photographing wildebeest Migration in Serengeti
After early morning breakfast at sunrise, you will start your drive to the famous Mara River where you will spend the following the mega wildebeest herds depending on the day you may witness the River crossing several times as you also photograph other wildlife and birds along the Mara River and later return to the lodge after sunset for overnight.
Day 7: Full day photographing wildebeest Migration in Serengeti
After early morning breakfast at sunrise, you will start your drive to the famous Mara River where you will spend the following the mega wildebeest herds depending on the day you may witness the River crossing several times as you also photograph other wildlife and birds along the Mara River and later return to the lodge after sunset for overnight.
Day 8: Drive from Serengeti to Kilimanjaro to connect your flight to Nairobi for Kit clearance and transfer to your hotel for overnight
After an eventful experience in Tanzania, you will depart Serengeti for Kilimanjaro to connect your flight to Kenya on arrival you will clear your equipment if need be, and after you will be received by our guide and transferred to your lodge overnight.
Day 9: Drive to Amboseli national park
After morning breakfast you will drive to Amboseli national park for a check-in and quick lunch after you will enjoy an evening game drive in the park as you photograph wildlife against the backdrop of Africa’s highest mountain, the Kilimanjaro some of the wildlife to look out for include Leopard, Cheetah, Wild dogs, Buffalo, Elephant, Giraffe, Zebra, Lion, Crocodile, Mongoose, Hyrax, Dik-dik, Lesser Kudu, and Nocturnal Porcupine, Prolific birdlife features 600 species and later return to the lodge after sunset for overnight.
Day 10: Full day photographing in Amboseli national park
After early morning breakfast, you will depart just before sunrise for a game drive in the park, this drive will take you to some of the most spectacular wildlife viewing areas in the park after morning drive you will return to the Lodge for lunch and relaxation and later head out for evening game drive as you continue Photographing wildlife and birds in the park.
Day 11: Drive to Lake Nakuru national park
Short early morning game drive in the park and after depart for Lake Nakuru where you will arrive in time to photograph the pink flamingos and the abundant wildlife in the park, Lake Nakuru is a spectacular wildlife sanctuary famous for Black and white rhinos thriving in the surrounding national park, which also has its fair share of Cape buffalo, African wild dog, zebra, eland, waterbuck, and lion. In recent years Nakuru has attracted fame for the high number of leopard sightings, and the rare Rothschild’s giraffe.
Day 12: Drive to Masai Mara national reserve
Depart for an early morning drive before sunrise, after you will return to the lodge for full breakfast after you will depart for Masai mara national reserve en route you will visit a Masai village en route to the lodge depending on the time of arrival you may enjoy an evening game drive in the park as you continue with your photography adventure.
Day 13: Full day photographing wildebeest Migration in Masai Mara
After early morning breakfast, you will depart the lodge for a game drive before sunrise, you will start photographing birds and the abundant wildlife that traverses the park as you advance to Mara River to follow the mega wildebeest herds crossing from Serengeti to Masai Mara depending on the day you may witness several River crossings and also predators that follow the herds and return to the lodge after sunset for overnight.
Day 14: Full day photographing wildebeest Migration in Masai Mara
After early morning breakfast, you will depart the lodge for a game drive before sunrise, you will start photographing birds and the abundant wildlife that traverses the park as you advance to Mara River to follow the mega wildebeest herds crossing from Serengeti to Masai Mara depending on the day you may witness several River crossings and also predators that follow the herds and return to the lodge after sunset for overnight.
Day 15: Drive back to Nairobi for your onward Journey
After morning breakfast you will depart Masai Mara for Nairobi, on arrival you will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
