Detailed safari itinerary

Day 1: Flight from Maun to Okavango Delta

After morning breakfast at your lodge you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight in a light air craft to Okavango Delta, the delta is one of the top wildlife sanctuaries in Botswana housing incredible amount of wildlife and Birds, on arrival you will be transferred to the lodge for check in and lunch and later you will enjoy a game drive or walking safari with our expert guides.

Day 2: Explore Okavango Delta

After morning breakfast you will head out for a game drive in the park in search of wildlife such as Elephants, African Buffalo, Hippopotamus, Lechwe, Topi, Blue Wildebeest, Giraffe, Nile crocodile, Lion, Cheetah, Leopard, Brown Hyena, Spotted Hyena, Greater Kudu, Sable Antelope, Black Rhinoceros, White Rhinoceros, Plains Zebra, Warthog and later return to the lodge for quick lunch and take a mokoro canoe ride and later return to the lodge for relaxation and sundowner and after you will head out for a night game drive with a great opportunity to see the many animals that are more active at night than during the day such as Aardvarks, Aardwolves, Leopards, and Servals. Lions also hunt at night and it is a good chance to come upon them when they are feeding on a kill.

Day 3: Morning walking safari and transfer to Moremi Game Reserve

You’ll wake up early morning for a light breakfast and set off with your guide for your last morning safari walk in the Okavango Delta, after you will be transferred to Moremi game reserve which covers an area of approximately 3900 square kilometers, Moremi boasts of diverse ecosystems ranging from floodplains, waterways, lagoons, pools, pans, grasslands and riparian forests, riverine to mopane woodland. This makes Moremi one of the prime game viewing and bird-watching areas of the world, depending on time of arrival you will enjoy an evening game drive in the reserve.

Day 4: Explore Moremi game reserve

After an early morning breakfast you will head out for a game drive in search of the elusive African wild dogs, lions and the elusive leopard as well as the raptors such as the mighty martial eagle, tawny eagle, the majestic African fish eagle and that incredible aviator–the Bateleur and many others, In the afternoon, you will set off once again in your safari vehicle for more birding and game viewing. You’ll return to camp just before sunset to have a shower and thereafter enjoy a campfire-cooked dinner.

Day 5: Drive to Savuti area in Chobe national park

After morning breakfast you will start your drive to Savuti is best known for its predators, both big cats (lion, leopard and cheetah) and birds of prey–raptors, vultures and all manner of birds of prey that soar over Savuti’ landscape in search of food. Perhaps the strangest phenomenon of all about Savuti is the 100–kilometres Savuti Channel. At times it will stop flowing and remain dry for years at a stretch. When the Channel recommences its flow, it changes the entire ecosystem, transforming the Savuti Marsh and Mababe Depression into wetlands and thus creating an oasis that provides water for thirsty wildlife herds and acts as a magnet for a profusion of water birds.

Day 6: Full day game drives in Savuti (Chobe national park)

You wake up early in the morning to freshen up with some hot water in the face basin. This is followed by a light breakfast of some coffee, tea, rusks, cereals, bread, etc.
head out for game drive in the Savuti Marsh is a vast expanse of grasslands dotted with dead acacia trees, creating an intriguing, almost ghost–like landscape. You will return to camp around mid–day for lunch and some siesta time and later in the evening you will head out again for your afternoon game drive and later return to lodge for overnight.

Day 7: Transfer from Savuti to Chobe National Park

Your journey to Chobe will take you through the mophane scrub of the Goha clay basin, across some sand ridge country and through the Zambezi teak woodlands of the Chobe Forest Reserve. You will arrive at Chobe is one of the best places to see and photograph Roan and Sable Antelopes. Puku Antelope occurs nowhere else in southern Africa, but only on the Chobe floodplains. On the other hand the massive herds of African Buffalo that inhabit Chobe are constantly flanked by the ever–hungry lions of the Chobe, your do an evening game drive in park.

Day 8: Morning boat cruise and Afternoon transfer to Kasane
After morning breakfast you will head to the River for boat cruise gives you the chance to experience the animals of Chobe from another vantage point. Therefore you might get up close and personal with hippos, crocodiles and a mind-boggling array of water birds and after you will be transferred to Kasane airport for your onward journey.

Best time to visit Botswana for a safari

The best time to visit Botswana is from May to September, during the Dry season and winter, resulting in more moderate temperatures. In addition, the Okavango is flooded from June to October. Wildlife viewing is good year-round, but this can differ from park to park.
