5 Days Luxury Uganda Gorillas and Wildlife Safari

Uganda over years has seen its tourism sector develop significantly with investors starting to invest in high end lodges across the countries diverse tourist attractions most dominantly being the endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable national park, Mgahinga gorilla national park for gorillas and Kibale forest national park for chimpanzee trekking.

Also incredible wildlife has been seen in Kidepo valley national park and Murchison falls national park.

The introduction of domestic flights between the national parks has made what once used to be difficult road conditions to easy access to the national parks.

Overview

This 5 Days Gorillas and wildlife Safari will ensure you fly in to Queen Elizabeth National Park for game drives and a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, that connect Lake George and lake Edward in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda. This Channel has a high concentration of Hippopotamus with over 400 species of birds.

You will then visit the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park where you will trek a family of habituated of mountain gorillas. This 5 Days Luxury Gorillas and wildlife Safari starts and ends in Entebbe as the flights start and end in Entebbe.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Upon Arrival in Entebbe international airport you will be received and welcomed by a representative from Wilderness Explores Africa and transfer to your lodge for Relaxation and Overnight.

Day 2: Flight from Entebbe to Kasese

Depending on your flight scheduled you will be picked up and transferred to the airport for a flight to Mweya airstrip upon arrival you will be received by your safari guide and transfer to the lodge for a check in and leisure later you will proceed with Lunch, After lunch you will have a moment to relax before you proceed for an evening game drive in the Savannah plains of Kasenyi. At the Kasenyi plains, you will sport herds of buffaloes, elephants, antelopes and some big cuts such as lions and leopards can be spotted based on sheer luck.

Our luxury 4×4 safari vehicles will have drinks and snacks ready to take on the sun downer as the set down the horizon and this is why Africa is Africa, then later you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Primate walks in Kyambura gorge and Afternoon private boat

After morning breakfast you will transfer to the kyambura gorge where you will walk in what is regarded as Africa’s lowland forest amidst savannah plains you will keep fingers crossed for primates like chimpanzees, several species of monkeys, Hippos and many bird species and later return to lodge for refreshment and lunch, after lunch, will head to the jetty along Kazinga channel for the afternoon boat cruise. This cruise offers you chances of viewing animals like: hippos, elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles and many species of water birds.

DAY 4: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After Breakfast, you will drive to southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. This drive is incredible as you may have chances of seeing the volcanoes en route to Lake Mutanda where you will spend the night in the shores of Lake Mutanda.

DAY 5: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park

After an early morning breakfast, with your packed lunch, your guide will drive you to Rushaga Park Headquarters for registration and briefing at about 7:45 am. Your guides will lead you through the thick creepers and undergrowth as your trek to find the Gorillas. This trek can take you half an hour to three quarters of the day. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The amount of time you take during the trek largely depends on the movement of the gorillas. But it is an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered Apes.

DAY 5: Flight back to Entebbe from Kisoro Airstrip

After morning breakfast, you will drive back to Kisoro airstrip which is an hour from Chameleon hill lodge to take your flight back to Entebbe, depending on your flight day room or other activities in Entebbe can be arranged.

When to book this safari package

We recommend 6 months to 1 year in advance to allow us secure gorilla trekking permits.

Best time to see wildlife and trek mountain gorillas

Ugandan wildlife is at its peak during the end of the rainy season which is May and October but you can still see wildlife throughout the year but gorilla trekking is also great during this months.
