Safari itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and drive to Akagera National Park

After morning breakfast you will drive to the Kigali genocide museum for a short tour after the tour you will start your drive to Akagera national park, upon arrival you will check in to the lodge, and if time allows you will do a short evening game drive in the park.

Day 2: Game drive and boat safari on Lake Ihema

After early morning breakfast with packed lunch, you will depart the lodge for a long game drive where you will have a chance to search for the Big 5 wildlife in the park, and later you will do a boat cruise on Lake Ihema where you will have a chance to see hippos and crocodiles and lots of water birds.

Day 3: Drive to Volcanoes National Park

After morning breakfast you start your drive to Volcanoes national park Via Kigali where you will have lunch and then continue to the park for check-in and overnight, the drive may be a bit longer but through a smooth road network.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking Experience

After morning breakfast your guide will pick you up from the Lodge and transfer you to Kinigi park headquarters for a gorilla briefing, after the briefing you will drive to the trailhead and start your trek into the forest in search of the mountain gorillas, After locating the mountain gorillas you will then spend 1 hour with the Mountain gorillas and then return to the Lodge for relaxation.

Day 5: Drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park

After a great experience with Mountain gorillas, you will bid farewell to the lodge and start your drive via the Kivu belt where you will have fantastic views of Lake Kivu, tea farms, and Gishwati Mukura forest before arriving in Nyungwe forest for check-in and Relaxation.

Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking experience in Cyamudongo

You will depart the Lodge early morning and meet with the park rangers in Nyungwe forest national park and drive to the Cyamudongo area where you will start your trek into the forest to locate the chimpanzees after locating the chimpanzees you will then spend 1 hour with the chimpanzees in their Natural Habitat and later return to the Lodge for relaxation

Day 7: Drive back to Kigali

After incredible trekking in the forest with gorillas and chimpanzees, you will start your drive to Butale where you will visit the ethnographic Museum and the king’s palace Nyanza after which you will be transferred to Kigali for your own ward flight.
