2 Days Volcanoes National Park Gorilla Safari

Volcanoes National is Rwanda’s main tourist attraction, the park attracts millions of tourists Every year for gorilla trekking and other activities like Golden monkey trekking, Hiking volcanoes of Bisoke and Karisimbi, Hiking Diana Fossey grave and birding safaris, the park’s strategic location close to main capital Kigali has given the park such a boost with tourism and it’s one of the top destinations for gorilla trekking in Africa.

Our 2 Days is a quick safari for those who may have limited time but would like to encounter the Mountain gorillas in Rwanda, the tour will offer clients 1 night in Volcanoes national and then after gorilla trekking, you will return back to Kigali for your departure flight or end the safari.

Detailed safari itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from Hotel and drive to Volcanoes National Park

After morning breakfast our guide will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Kigali city for a short city tour after the city tour you will then start your drive north-west of the capital Kigali to Musanze where you will have to visit the Diana Fossey Museum and then later drive to the lodge near the base of Volcanoes national park for check-in and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking experience and return to Kigali

After early morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and depart the lodge with your luggage and transfer to Kinigi for a briefing with the Park rangers and after the briefing, you will then drive to the trailhead where you will start trekking into the forest to find the Mountain gorillas, After finding the Mountain gorillas you will then view, photograph and film the mountain gorillas for 1 hour after that you will return to the trailhead and drive back to Kinigi, depending on the time of return you will then start your drive back to Kigali

When to book the safari package

This tour can book anytime but we recommend 1 -6 months in advance as there may be limited gorilla permits available during the high season.
