5 Days Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Safari

In this tour, we will cover the 3 most popular destinations in Tanzania – Lake Manyara National Park (1 night), Central Serengeti (2 nights), and Ngorongoro Crater (1 night). Tour starts and ends at Arusha. With our experienced driver guides, it will be a trip of a lifetime!

Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara

On this day your guide will pick you up from the hotel in Arusha at 8:30 am to begin the journey to Lake Manyara National Park with a picnic lunch for a full day game drive. As you enter the national park, you will be welcomed by the lush forests of Acacia, and Mahogany trees begin to put you in the mood for a spectacular day of game viewing. The game drive will go on till evening punctuated with a picnic lunch. During the game drive, you will look out for buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, baboons, and blue monkeys. Another spectacle of Lake Manyara National Park is the tree-climbing lions, and on a lucky day, they can be easily spotted. If your safari is in the breeding season (November- April) of the flamingos, you will view the shoreline turning pink with millions of them flocking there. Thereafter, you will proceed to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 2: Lake Manyara to Central Serengeti

After breakfast, you will head out towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. from the highlands, we will descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the horizon. We head to the central park area, known as the “Seronera”, which is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife in hundreds and thousands. We will arrive at our lodge in time for lunch and thereafter enjoy an evening game drive in the Serengeti National Park.

Day 3: Central Serengeti

On this day you will have a relaxed breakfast and depart for a full day game drive around 9:00 am with packed lunch and return back to lodge late afternoon at 6:00 pm, Or you can depart at 6:00 am on an early morning game drive. Later return to your lodge for breakfast and relax then depart for the afternoon game drive with packed lunch. You will explore the central part of the Serengeti National Park today. The legendary Serengeti National Park is the most renowned safari destination for its incredible population of lions and leopards. The central portion of the Serengeti – known as the Seronera area is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park. It features the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore, attracts immense wildlife species. During the off-season of the migration, one must really lookout for the many lion pride that thrives in this region. The interactions and survival of these lion pride provide an excellent game viewing experience all year round. Along with a picnic lunch during the full-day game drive, the day will come to a close by around 5 pm. You will then return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 4: Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro conservation area

after breakfast, you will have a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park and later depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a picnic lunch. Ngorongoro Crater is the largest collapsed volcanic crater in the world with fourteen kilometers of isolated natural beauty. Ngorongoro Crater is surrounded by a ring of extinct volcanoes with its floor dotted with watering holes that shelters some 30,000 animals. Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Tour (5 hours) to Arusha

On the last day of your safari, you will have an early start. Finishing up with a quick breakfast you will make an early descent at around 6:30 am into the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. It has a massive floor of about 260 sq km with a depth of over 2000 feet. The 5-hour game drive on the floor of the crater will expose you to incredible animal sightings. Having your camera ready is always recommended. The African elephant, buffalo, Black rhino, Hippos, Hyenas, Cheetahs, and Lions are usually massively available. You will have your picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo pool and thereafter, you will begin a steep ascend to the exit of the crater. This will be the last section of your safari, with a 4hr drive left to Arusha. You will be dropped off at your preferred location in Arusha by 6:00 pm in the evening from where we will say thank you and travel with us again. End of safari.

You can book any time of the year but we recommend that you book with us three months in advance.

Best time to visit Lake Manyara national park

Watching wildlife in Lake Manyara National Park is good all year, but at its best from late June to October, during the Dry season. However, this very scenic park is at its most beautiful during the Wet season, from November to May, when the vegetation is lush and waterfalls cascade down the escarpment.
